Very disappointed with this in FSX. The prop interference with autogen and clouds, and the rotor effects make is essentially unusable. However, I notice in the FSX screenshots on the GAS site the rotors don't look like mine. I also note that the prop looks much worse than any of the other GAS aircraft I have (all the Wacos, Stearman package and the D29). I've attached some pix [edit: other pix removed] to show what I see. Is this right, and if not is there any way I can fix it?

The model is not compatible with FSX when Acceleration is used. I do not know which vendor you purchased it from, but that disclaimer should be there. Here is how it looks in FSX unaccelerated not great but as a port over from FS9, not terrible. Your only recourse at this point is a refund which will gladly arrange. Please e-mail me proof of purchase complete with vendor and amount paid as well as a PayPal account into which you would like the funds transferred. We have a support e-mail for issues of this kind and it is support@goldenagesimulations.com. Our forum thread is not intended as a support medium as we do not check each day. When there are issues with a product of ours we prefer that we be contacted directly A complete overhaul on the Pitcairn for FSX is contemplated, but not started. If you any further concerns please contact me directly Thanks

I use the Pitcairn in FsX/Acc by using a darker alpha for the prop/blades. If you want it I'll forward it on.

They're on their way Thanks Roger! And just so everyone knows - the Pitcairn is now officially awesome. Even with Acceleration!

Glad you like them Mark Took it up for a spin and had to have a go at auto-rotation...works very well ;D Yes, definitely a nice bird once you figure it out! I'm trying to get my landings shorter at the moment. I can't seem to get the banner-towing to work, and it would be nice if I could find a way to put the rotor brake on a button or a key, but these are minor issues in the grand scheme of things. I have yet to find a GAS model that didn't look beautiful, and this one's surely going to star in some sort of little movie before long... Oh yeah, I just spotted your stationary prop in that last photo

looks great, but I really want to do an FSX native version and will make it a priority after the Lockheed 12 is finished. We've learned a lot about making FSX aircraft over the last 4 projects and the Pitcairn deserves the full treatment Look forward to the instructional video.
Roger could I get a copy of the prop textures you have whipped up, I'm sure they will come in handy.
Thanks for the patience with the model .

Interesting to see the real thing here, and I notice the rotors are often quite visible, especially from above. Maybe a camera strobe effect too, of course.

Yeah, it is an interesting machine when you look at the history! There is a freebie PCA-2 with a Beechnut livery, but the model's nothing like the GAS one. Mind you, when playing with Roger's prop and rotor alphas I accidentally discovered the paintwork is done as BMP files, which I successfully graffitised for my little movie. So maybe do-able as an 'amateur' job? I'd also love to see (do?) some fictional 1930s liveries...
