Was wondering if anyone has a three view of this one. The rest of the early mail planes are well represented; this one is something of an "ugly duckling"; but with it's symmetrical wings and control surfaces and OX-5 engine, it would be a comparitively easy build. I don't think any survived, so I don't expect to find any cockpit photos; if someone can surprise me with one, that would be great. Don't plan to start it right away; too many half-finished birds I need to get out the door first. But am filing it away as a future project. EDIT: A picture for anyone not familiar with it: -James

Hi James....this plane seems to be very elusive?...yet ,it has a history.I would think that somewhere ,in a Museum possibly, one was preserved?....It still is in memory's eye,and there has to be someone who can solve this now growing mystery?...which makes your work with this model more so fascinating....WHEN you get it together, and flying on the Sim,it has to be a great accomplishment.....Thanks...Vin

James,
I can scan a three-view and some data for you, I'll send, attached to an email, to the wnco address (I assume that's still the one?)

My thanks to both Leyland and Stewart for sending me different and most excellent three views. They will do very nicely.
One more question: If you closely at the painting I included in my original message; there is a cone shaped object on top of the lower wing, one on each side. It also appears in the drawings. What was that?

Well, I should wait until others commit themselves - this not to show my self any stupider than I have a habit of doing here.....
I searched - some pix/drawings have the cones, some don't. I found no mention of them.
OK, my guess: they are either generators (with little props to take advantage of the wind breezing by to generate needed electricity (lights and such) OR they are additional fuel (though they look awful small to be fuel tanks!!!

Stew Stew; I am not sure why you calling yourself stupid; but the drawings you sent me are great; they even include cross sections, that Leyland's drawings do not include. I appreciate them very much, thanks; both yours and Leyland's will be a big help. I am sorry if I offended you in some way. I was thinking the same thing; that they were generators of some kind. Just never seen ones like that before. -James

Gil!
Thanx!! Though James asked the question, I became interested and just couldn't find any reference or explanation!!! I, too, would be interested in adding a hi res pic to my ref library
James!!!
I've never found anything offensive on this site!!! I usually try to be friendly or helpful - sometimes it comes out perverted!!! I assume what I wish everyone would assume about me - if it really sounds bad, I must have had another, more friendly meaning in mind!!!
Now we have to convince someone who knows what they're doing to build us a Carrier Pigeon - in FS9 first of course!!!!
L&Ks,

Just need to clear some other projects out of the hanger first. There are a few planes I would like to build one day; and I have started a research file for each, including the Curtiss Carrier Pigeon. -James

James!!!
I retired from the Air Force in 1991 (can it really be pushing 21 years???) and Marge and I retired from teaching in Prince William County, VA, in July of 2008. We moved to the Syracuse area (two of our three "Kids" and all of our Grand Kids as within 8 miles)(and Marge is from south of Cleveland and I'm from Buffalo, so the weather is a mere inconvenience for us...). The nicest thing about retirement is that my time is my own. I believe the next thing on my calendar is the Syracuse/Rhode Island game in the dome on 10 September.
I have all the time in the world - final surprise notwithstanding!!!
I'll be looking forward to the ship!!!
