You live in a fairytale location, Roger. Castles, chateaus, quaint villages, beautiful country. Just delightful.

Cheers guys, yup it was a memorable afternoon. My friend Val is coming today for the weekend and it looks as though the weather could break shortly thereafter. Pity because my son and his girlfriend are arriving for the first time next Wednesday for a week which as I've not seen him (except for Skype) for nearly 2 years I'm really looking forward to. Bruce, horses for courses eh? I think that Yamba has a lot going for it Roger

I think its wonderful that both of you are living the dream. Keep those pictures (and videos) coming. Feed my Walter Mitty.

....Keep those pictures (and videos) coming. Feed my Walter Mitty. Shall do, Tom. As and when the opportunity provides. We have the sugar-cane harvest commencing on July 22nd. so I'll try and get some shots associated with that. Bruce

This is an interesting one. We visited Oradour sur Glane on 6th July (you can check it out on the web) and I intended to do a video, but for the first time in my life I messed it up completely and only a few shots are usable. Fortunately my son and his girlfriend arrived for a week's visit yesterday and it's somewhere he wants to visit, so hopefully I should be able to return with them and re-shoot. It's an extraordinary place that's associated with a shocking story and I found that it's the many small things still there that might go almost unnoticed by many visitors that still link it so vividly with its former inhabitants.

Roger Yes, I recall seeing a documentary on the town some years ago. Quite a horrifying event.
