What's the situation with licencing these days? Would it be possible for a previous owner to have activated it 'too many times' so someone buying it second hand wouldn't be able to? I have no idea whether this is something that needs to be considered but just raise it anyway. If not, as Bruce says, Ebay has to be the way to go I would have thought.
An alternative worth considering must also be Prepar3d as it's now pretty obvious that nobody gives a hoot and a private user is regarded as using it for educational purposes. And quite right too because as we've all been saying for years IT'S A SIMULATOR, NOT A GAME. I've been thinking that I might go that route when I've saved up enough pennies because of the improvements that I understand have been made making it run a lot better than the original old FSX does. Also I think some new features have been added. Maybe someone who's running it could comment on that.

Vin, Going through the normal "uninstall" sequence for any program that's in your Registry (and FSim is most certainly in your Registry, by default) should remove the program in its entirety.
However, once that has completed, go into your Windows Explorer and look for any folder(s) in which any add-on files might reside......may be under "My Documents" and named "Flight Simulator Files" or something similar. These are usually saved flights that you may have created.
However, if you have another installation of Flight Sim, be careful about deleting anything that might affect that other installation.

If FSX Gold has to be activated on-line before it can be used (I wouldn't know, as I don't use it) then yes, that particular copy would appear as being already registered, I would think. How this might then stop, or not, any further activation I have no idea. Bruce

On that subject, a little bit of thread drift, which hopefully isn't a problem now Vin has found his copy. I have been using Corel VideoStudio Pro for editing my videos for some time and have installed the original copy I bought (via download) back in 2011 several times on various PCs as I've upgraded. But never more than one install on one PC. A few months ago, when I upgraded yet again to my current PC, I did the same again and when I went to run it, I got a message saying that I'd 'installed it too many times' and that I had to buy another copy! You can imagine my reaction and I immediately thought that I'd get in touch with Corel to give em a piece of my mind. Yeah, but you try and do that. There's no contact number on their web site for you to use and if you want to get in touch with 'Technical Support' you have to BUY a support number, otherwise you can't send them a message on their web site. How Corel has survived with such an appalling customer relations policy I do not know. By ferreting around on their web site I found that if I went through a Canadian retailer's download site, I could download the latest version as an 'upgrade' for about the same price as buying a support number and this is what I reluctantly did in the end. What cheesed me off though, was finding that as far as I'm concerned, the 'new' version has no more to offer than the old one despite the fact that they claim lots of new features, which in my view are all hype. So I'll never buy another piece of Corel software that's for sure Roger

...So I'll never buy another piece of Corel software that's for sure Roger And I for one wouldn't blame you in the slightest for that decision. As you stated...what an appalling approach from Corel. Unfortunately that is becoming (has become?) the norm for many businesses which rely 100% on sales over the internet. They have no physical presence: no address, no phone number, no shop front. Totally obscure. When we moved to Yamba and I arranged for the electricity to be "connected" (i.e., cancel the previous owners and put my details in from X date) I asked where their office was. They don't have one. Well, maybe there is a desk somewhere in India. Everything is done remotely...even the service guy in his truck gets his instructions over the phone. He doesn't have a depot to go to. Bruce

Old Pilots Never Die,They Just Buzz Off! Thnx Bruce....Will attempt that...After numerous uninstalls and installs...each time I Instal again?? I get a different Down load..Which leads me to believe this Computer with FSX only is thoroughly POLLUTED with stuff...As this is primarily a game machine..and set up that way..I may format the whole thing...Yes from scratch...I have on my "PASS PORT" any and all "THINGS" important to me...IE Scenery ,Planes...However I fear retrieving them again will start this over again...Soo and IF?..Start clean..only add new D/Ls..and do not import a wealth of stuff....Per Rogers advice I will definitely explore Prepar3d ...I note some FSX is portable to it...Roger hinted at price...TRUE..However..From $ 23000.Bucks to $59.00 Bucks...and some in between.....TO BODILY GO WHERE I NEVER BEEN BEFORE!...LOL..... I still HEAVILY indulge in Desk Top Flight Simming...Never lost the thrill of it..so will attempt to now improve and MOVE ON!...will keep you posted..and Sincere thanks Bruce and Roger...Most helpful....Vin www.prepar3d.com/prepar3d-store/

To be properly 'educated', buy the cheapest version of Prepar3d. Methinks its the Academic version at about $50ish. That way, you will have the very latest Flight Sim, & one that is being constantly upgraded, instead of a 5-6 year old one! & as I posted before...
To Remove.. 1. Use a utility called CCleaner or the Windows program remove/delete utility for FSX, Acceleration & all the add-ons that you have installed. 2. Delete any left over Program file folders that are still left, & also if any add-ons have left folders - delete them as well. 3. Reboot 4. Use CCleaner to do a registry check & remove all left overs. 5. I also use Glary Utilities as well to double check that all is gone. 6. Reboot. 7. Check in My Documents if all FSX folders are gone (thats where 'Flights'are saved.
All should be good! :-)
That should do it.
