1. Use a utility called CCleaner or the Windows program remove/delete utility for FSX, Acceleration & all the add-ons that you have installed. 2. Delete any left over Program file folders that are still left, & also if any add-ons have left folders - delete them as well. 3. Reboot 4. Use CCleaner to do a registry check & remove all left overs. 5. I also use Glary Utilities as well to double check that all is gone. 6. Reboot. 7. Check in My Documents if all FSX folders are gone (thats where 'Flights'are saved.
All should be good! :-)
That should do it.

And don't forget, there's a little 'anti-hack' feature built into FSX that wasn't there in FS2004. When you deinstall and do a complete new install without formatting your hard drive, there's a little 'something' left behind that catches you out, so at the end of the reinstall the program won't run due 'to a licensing issue'. I don't know if registry cleaners remove this little flag but so many people were caught out legitimately reinstalling FSX on upgraded machines that MS had to issue a little utility to reset the licensing flag. Get it at the following link. download.microsoft.com/download/1/c/d/1cd508f9-7520-4659-a122-a26e8804e884/MSKB928080.exeRoger PS don't worry - the link is a direct Microsoft support link, so it's clean If you want to go via the support page.... support2.microsoft.com/kb/928080PPS - it's not necessary to delete your simobjects/airplanes folder or indeed your addon scenery folder. You'll just be making loads of work for yourself recreating them. Just rename them and save them on your hard drive, install a new copy of FSX and then just add em back. You'll have to reactivate the sceneries (unless you also keep a copy of your old scenery.cfg file) but the aircraft will be immediately available for you to fly. Life is too short to keep reinstalling all this kind of stuff which usually isn't the source of too many problems, unless you've cocked something up of course. In the beginning I just installed FSX and then copied folders over from my old FS9 install including things like AI traffic. Most of it worked immediately and I then weeded out what didn't. It's crazy to delete stuff that was working in FSX and then reinstall it. You're kidding yourself if you think that it'll be the better for it. At the end of it, you'll just end up being older - much older

thnx guys...great techie advice......to date I do have FSX running....And visually better than ever before..all Maxed out..FR very high..The new Two Solid state hard Drives Working well...the Extensive Scenery port overs went well...lost nothing....the area that gives me fits are the planes...On a direct download into Sim Objects Planes? no problem...On some D/Ls from desk top? some problems...But on port overs?? big problems...get bleed over into other Plane files.....a selection pic of a C-172 may be in fact a DC4///This frustrating...Planes Under different Select Pics///hidden....But I have been playing that game.. My BASIC Problem seems to be ...Clean Installs Of Planes!.My ultimate answer will be a Complete Format..this Machine is dedicated to Flight Sim Only.....So far .I have been interpreting insanity...that is DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS!!......Having fun..Vin
