I agree Bruce.....very interesting indeed. Railroad Tycoon was one of my all time favorite games. Hmm...guess I'll have to put it on my wishlist.
Good find!!
Cheers!

Well, he's been plugging away at it for two years and is estimating another two (2019) before it will come off Early Access....but he will update it weekly. Just looking at what he proposes for it makes it even more appealing. He has no "Early Access" price advised yet.....probably won't know until it goes on sale in the next week or so.

I see the "Early Access" has now been released and yes.....I did purchase it. I have it installed and took about a 5 min. peek. Looks like the game play will be very similar to Railroad Tycoon so it should be an easy learn. I still have a LOT of paperwork and items I need to get done around the house so I'm hoping to give it a go later tonight perhaps....if not.....maybe over the weekend.
To continue.........(smile)
Cheers!!

Well Bruce, I have a couple hours invested in "play-time" with this program and must admit I do enjoy it.....but I tend to agree at this point that $25 does seem a bit steep. Overall, it's going to be a nice game....but there are a few quirks I'm hoping the developer might improve upon. Overall, the game play is pretty much like most the other games of this nature. You build you routes from town to town and assign trains to carry people/equipment. Before going any farther.....I must confess I DID NOT play the tutorial game all the way through as it is a simple enough game to figure out. However, with that said....I do need to take the time to do the tutorial or see if I can find a manual somewhere that might better explain the signaling system. I have had a few moments where I though I have everything worked out....but then come back later to find two trains nose to nose stopped on a piece of track. On long stretches of track I have built a couple areas of double track with signals etc., and if the trains just happen to meet at those areas they will in fact go around each other. However, the single piece of track in between.......well....for some reason the signal on the double track area will not keep a train from passing on to the single area and they will meet in the middle of the single track. Not sure what the problem is.....perhaps the double track area is placed too far from one another? Doesn't look like it is....but I haven't gotten it worked out as yet. Additionally.....I can't find a way of laying double track or creating a double station, without just placing a single track or station next to one another and connecting with track. That part isn't a big deal....as it seems to work okay, but sure takes up a lot more room then it should it seems. I do like the game and think it has a LOT of potential. I enjoy the idea you can select a train and then click a button to place you on the train to ride along. (smile) Not sure how practical that is......but it is enjoyable. More to follow.......... Cheers,

Steve, I have read several Steam reviews which say that the signalling system is buggy at the moment. Others have experienced exactly the situation you mention. So I wouldn't concern yourself about doing something wrong. Apparently that's just the way it is at this time.
The developer has said that it will take two years of continual development with updates, so I s'pose this is the bare-bones start.
