A sad day when I learn that the lovely Doris Day - once a teenage Bruce's crush - has died and then, a little later, I hear that the wonderful Tim Conway has also left us. I did a little tribute to both on my blog..... Beyond The Blue Horizon

Bruce.....I knew about Ms. Day....but I sure didn't hear about Mr. Conway as yet. Yes indeed....it's hard to sometimes see/hear of such icons leaving us. Especially with what they are leaving us with for "entertainment" these days. (smile)
Cheers!
Edit: Just popped into your blog.....First off...BRAVO!! You had EVERY ONE of my Tim Conway "favorites." (smile) Doris Day.....Hmmm.....I've never watched "Midnight Lace"....it's now on my "must see list."

I think one of Tim Conway's biggest talents was his ability during one of his ad lib routines to keep a perfectly straight face while the rest of the cast were all giving themselves hernias trying not to laugh.

I'm sure that you would enjoy "Midnight Lace". I know that Doris starred in many other movies, and that her career in films really took off with "Calamity Jane", but I think that the reason these two just stand out for me is because they were thrillers where all her others were light-hearted. Incidentally, the police inspector who features in "Midnight Lace" was also a police inspector in Hitchcock's "Dial 'M' for Murder", starring Grace Kelly and Ray Milland. Another excellent drama.

Even in the elephant sketch he had to suppress it when he saw the others having a problem containing their laughter and in the dentist, well, when he looked Harvey in the face after stabbing his own forehead....!!
