An important airport of the thirties. I think that someone needs to do a scenery for it, but I was really wondering is what is the closest airport to it in GW3, as in what is the modern counterpart.

Well, to answer that, perhaps we need to know where it is/was and for a quick & dirty version, check this thread: mainescenery.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=scene&action=display&thread=1125445778and start building... we'll all be glad to have your contribution to the project I googled it... 78IL is the ICAO in 1995 but that is a field in Indiana in FS. Looks like it would have been due East of PalWaukee (KPWK) toward the lake. Try this location. I have a big open flat field which would make a good airfield N42-9.44 W87-49.67

I know how to make scenery with afcad and rwy12. I think i'll give it a go if I can find resources on the airport.

I just made an afcad off of a picture I found, and I am getting ready to test it out. I went to where it was supposed to be based on an old nav chart, and There was a field that seemed perfect for the airport. Once I get the afcad, Ill post up some pics of it. I can't do any buildings, but I think that what I'll do is just let anyone who wants have the AFCAD and then hopefully someone will build the building for it. Here is what I used to make it with, pretty dificult but I think it'll be worth it when its done. members.tripod.com/airfields_freeman/IL/Airfields_IL_Chicago_N.htm#glenview

Why don't you go to the Golden Scenery forum and get the Quick & Dirty tutorial. It will give you a way to place buildings and Bill has provided some nice ones with FSGW. Its really not difficult to do simple stuff.

Okay, here is what an hour and a half has gotten me. That black area is for the main building I might try and add the building, but I think that I am going to make this an open project. Hopefully, a bunch of people will take what Ive done and make it as accurate as possible.

I'm moving this thread to the scenery forum. Good luck finding accomplices.

I'd geuss the coordinates at N42-5.50, W87-49.08, Derived from fs2002 coordinates of center of Glenview NAS, which was originally Curtis-Reynolds.

I figured Jakemaster could use the open field nearby with fewer headaches.
