Good to see you here Jan. We haven't seen Mo for a while now while he deals with personal stuff and I don't have Fs9 any longer. However I'm sure some of our members still run Fs9 (GW3) and will be able to help.
Cheers,
Roger.

Hi Roger,
Too bad to hear Mo has not been around for a while. Hope he's alright !
I am talking about the FSX installation. All 3 airports are there, looking great, AI WWI aeroplanes too, but they just sit there, no flying....
I was hoping some of you guys here might have installed the Movie Maker WWI scenery too and could shine a light about the AI....
Should i post my question in another forum here maybe ? ( or post at SOH ? )
Cheers, Jan

Jan,
Checked out the ai traffic at 1Q1. Rather than taking off the aircraft disappear at departure time. I found an error in the airport file that causes this.
Maybe someone knows if a corrected file has been published, I couldn't find one.
The airport file is 'a1_1Q1_ADE_MCW.bgl'. The error is an improper taxi way. The taxi way associated with the runway (15/33) is designated a 'taxi link' rather than 'runway link' as required for ai to use the runway.
The file was created using (Scruffyduck's) ADE. I was able to open the file and make the correction using AFX and the ai behave properly now. It might be best though for someone with ADE to make the corrections. With AFX I have no idea if any ADE special features may have been discarded.
Maybe we can get a corrected file uploaded to the TOH download page. Till then, I can email my file to you if you like.

Hi Dave, I would love to give your corrected airport file a go. Thank you very much ! ( i have 'unhidden' my email address in my profile ) Question : do all 6 WWI AI aircraft participate in the traffic and do they do T&G circuits or fly to one of the other Movie Maker WWI involved airports ? When i read about this scenery i was really hoping to be able to join in with some of these fabulous scenes from 'The Great Waldo Pepper' and 'The Aviator' .... Mo did a fantastic job with his MM WWI scenery and it's a wonderful idea in the first place. Just the place to enjoy flying some of the amazing WWI aircraft models that are available for FSX. The AI aircraft models look very nice as well. Took some effort to get them all setup but it was sure worth the trouble. ( initially i placed the traffic.bgl in the Scenery\World\Scenery folder but no AI aircraft models turned up at the site... Uh,Oh.... After i placed the bgl in the Movie Maker Tours/Scenery folder they were all there ! ) Looking forward to your corrected airport file, Dave, thanks so much again ! Can't wait to see the ACTION ! Cheers, Jan

Jan,
There are no TNGs. All 6 fly 1Q1<->KTLR. If you applied the repaints to default ac: the C172 will fly 1Q1<-> KTLR. The Lear KWHP<->KTLR.
If you would like TNGs and don't know how to create/edit traffic files, I'll be glad to help out.
Email sent. If you have any problems with it, let me know.
Dave

Dave, Thank you very kindly, i 've got the file, installed it as per instruction but these tight ass WWI hotshot pilots at 1Q1 just sit there in their magnificent flying machines not moving a muscle.... I waved the clapper board in front of them shouting Action! Action! but it doesn't mean anything to them. I suppose i have no authority here, obviously the're waiting for the likes of Spielberg, Coppola or Scorsese... Hehe Tried various days, various times, arrival and departure, all according to the Arrivals and Departures text, no show whatsoever. I've got an FSX crash a couple times after changing times, mostly late in the afternoon or nearing dusk.... Also noticed some of the AI planes are not there anymore at a particular time. So, it's still not working for me, Dave, but thank you very much again for going to the trouble of sending me your new airport file, much appreciated ! As for the TNG's , oh, yes, i'd love that ! I'd love a scenario where three of any of the WWI fighters taxi and take-off in succession and engage in a 10 minutes low level dog fight above the airfield and then land and taxi back to their spots also in succession. ( just kidding.... ;D but wouldn't that be great ! ) I remember having had good fun setting up some AI aircraft patterns with earlier FS versions, where you'd have to fly the whole pattern yourself, but i believe that's pretty different now with FSX and even FS9, right ? I used Markus Brunner's 'GA-Traffic' for a while, both in FS9 and FSX, i could use that again to setup something for 1Q1 using the MM AI. The only problem is that the setup of the frequency is a little vague. I stopped using it, you need to be very careful which models you use for AI otherwise your fps will drop to a minimum easily, but i like to have a look at it again and see what i can do at 1Q1. By all means, if you have any intention to setup some TNG activity at 1Q1 i for one would appreciate that very much ! ( can you actually specify the number of TNG's in todays FSX AI setup, Dave ? ) Thanks much again for trying to help me out, most kind of you ! Cheers, Jan Assistent Focus Puller Movie Maker Studios

Jan,
After you installed the new airport file, 'AFX_1Q1_Movie_Maker_Set_1.bgl', to ..\Movie Maker Tours\scenery\ folder.....
...Did you remove the original airport file from the ...\Movie Maker Tours\scenery\ folder? File name is 'a_1Q1_ADE_MWC.bgl'.
If it's not removed (or disabled) ai will not fly, even though the new file is installed.
Once that's done start a flight at 1Q1 at 17:40GMT. If things are working 3 aircraft should depart within about 10 minutes. If the planes cannot depart they should simply disappear from their parking spots.
Hint: When testing, increasing the Simulation Rate to 4x speeds up the testing.
TNGs-Both FS2004 and FSX support TNG in the ai flightplans.

Bingo ! GMT is the magic word... I was meaning to ask about that, are the arrival and departure times in the listing Local Time or GMT, it's only now that i notice ' Times are GMT' at the top of the listing.... Sjeeezzzz... I tried GMT once, obviously didn't wait long enough.... Sorry, Dave, my bad, Spad and Camel just took off ! Yes, i removed 'AFX_1Q1_Movie_Maker_Set_1.bgl' before installing the new one you sent me and also tried speeding up the sim. I can't believe now that i completely overlooked the 'Times are GMT' notice ! Not the first time that a solution has been staring me in the face all day long.... All's fine now ( still would love those TNG's going on at 1Q1, not only fun but also in light of the MM scenery theme ) thanks very much again for putting up with me, Dave and sorry again for my stupid mistake ! Btw, i have enjoyed watching the awesome line up of these Howard DGA-15P beauties at your Photobucket ! Would be something to have in FSX, wouldn't it ! Who knows Milton might have a go once he has come over to The Dark Side. We don't have a Howard over at the MAAM but there is a fine looking Fairchild-24G just begging for a virtual sister ! Cheers, Jan
