Thanks Roger. I was trying to remember registration numbers that spelled something. That one came to mind first. N1 CE N1 KE (Gee I wonder who owns that one....) C-FIDO (Learjet)

Darkening the pilot's face would have been a risky business in the original SAAF version, though....
That looks really good, Railrunner. I'm looking forward to this.
Where's that scenery, by the way?

Thanks! I'm thinking about releasing a paint kit with the variations of standard stripes, painted leading edge and glareshield.
The scenery is Hanks Place. I've been tweeking what I can of it. I've put in a few more roads, a couple more taxiways and a few more parking spots. A little help from E-Z Scenery too. I need to get the new version of Alaska AFCADs out......

You'd think I'd recognize Hank's; I used to fly out of there all the time. I quit going there, though, after they put in the birds.
The paint kit is no doubt a fine idea, but I'd settle for just one decent paint job so I can fly this plane. That red job looked fine to me.
Don't mind me, I'm just feeling impatient. I've waited three years or so for this, I guess I can stand to wait a little longer.

There's nothing like a project coming together! Chris, your repaint will make a lot of us happy. I'm not sure about the original SAAF paint, Simonovman. I fly WWII aircraft with swaztikas and rising suns and having a realistic scheme for a military aircraft is more important to me than pc. I do wonder however why of all the schemes for Austers, he chose the SAAF one?

Cool repaint, RailRunner I do wonder however why of all the schemes for Austers, he chose the SAAF one? Maybe Mr. Büchner is South African Regards, Stratobat

I don't fly swastikas either. Or hinomarus.
But we cannot discuss this aspect without getting into areas that would be considered political or at any rate inappropriate in here, so let's not go there.
In any case I don't fly military aircraft at all in FS; I've got combat sims for that and I got into FS in the first place as a break from it. Otherwise I'd just get the Greek AF repaint.
But I'm sure that quite soon Railrunner is going to make all this moot.

Finally made some progress. I'm hoping to have (at least) some new pics in the next day or so. Can't seem to get ahold of the guy that made the HAF version- his e-mail address didn't work for me.

Making some progress. Got lots on my plate. All that's really left is to finish up the leading edge, clean the line on the engine cowling and relocate the tail #.
