I vaguely heard of this train.Last night,on a program called Hitlers Body guard, they had extensive pictures and configurations of it.Impressive ,a rolling nerve center.with all the amenities of a great train. Heavily armored, with anti aircraft guns on it,army units following it,false routs,it was an effect to protect him from assassination.Which was a big problem in Germany,by Germans against him...Unfortunitly they were not successful. But as far as trains go,this was unique.I wonder if models or pictures are out there of this train? Any one have more info on this? Its ironic he called it code word "Amerika!!"....Thanx...Vin

I would have liked to watch that - thanks for pointing me in that direction, but there seem to be no pictures on the web about that train. The Kriegslokomotive is a monster, a "simplified", "leightweight" All-Purpose-Long-Distance-Machine. Krupp and Borsig companies were able to build 6000 of them within 2 years. That is a lot of metal!

Hi Friends, The locomotives used in Hitler's personal train pulling weren't armored, but simply streamlined. They were two Einheits Br.01.10 (the three cylinder streamlined version of Br.01) You can see them here: www.dbtrains.com/en/locomotives/epochII/BR01.10Many times to the train were added two A/A wagons (Flak, based on the salonwagen's frame), the first after the tender and the second at the trains end. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Friends, I forgot to say that Liliput has in his catalogue (1/87 - Ho Scale) the Br.01.10 and almost ALL the wagons (the Flakwagon too)used in Hitler's train. Unfortunately the models dimensions and accuracy aren't so good in according with the actual factory's standards (they are based on the older Liliput's streamlined wagon; do you remember the old camo version?), but the 01.10 is really FANTASTIC (black or dark grey livery).
