I've just installed GW3 (I'll post another topic about something else later ) so this is a quickie: how do I get Flight1 Instant Scenery to work/install into GW3 ? I can't get it to go anywhere but FS9.....also I want to use ExcBuilder version 2.0 (that I'm using in FS9) in GW3 but how? Thanks......

Those programs probably use the registry to find FS. The easiest way to make them work is to go to www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library and get the free registry repair tool. Change the FS9 path to GW3 and those programs should work with GW3. Just change it back to work in FS9. Other utilities and some payware aircraft will need the path set correctly to work also.

Right -thanks for the link.
I've put some of my own WW2 airfields into GW3 & find that I can get AFCAD221 to work by adding a FSUIPC.dll to Modules.....

I've got the repair tool but can't get it to the FSGW3.exe if that's what I'm supposed to do? There's a button that has repair FS9 registry path & then I'm lost......sorry.

I don't currently have FS9 or GW3 installed, so I'm speaking from memory which may or may not be missing some bits... ExcBuilder needs 'fsconnect.dll' installed in the GW3\ Modules folder. Copy it from your FS9\Modules folder. Instant Scenery-IS installs a .dll in the Modules folder. (InstantSceneryFS9.dll ?). Try copying it from your FS9 install. If that doesn't work, run the Instant Scenery module installer. ..\Program Files\Instant Scenery\ModuleInstaller.exe To get the F1 Registry Repair tool to 'see' your GW3 install... create an empty text file in notepad. Rename it FS9.exe and place it in your GW3 main folder. Dave

Hello Dave, I've treated GW3 just like FS9 & had all the files copied from FS9. Desite this I got connection error messages with FSConnect. However, I've just trawled thought Opa's manual & the Excbuilder readme & spotted that putting the coordinates in by hand might be an option, so I tried & BINGO, one of the 2 church buildings at GW3 Biggin Hill has gone.
I'll play with Instant Scenery next & I've done your tip with the renamed notepad text...........fingers crossed.... Thanks for the tips! I love the Howard snaps....
