I'm using Vintage Military Buildings SS FS9 scenery objects, especially the WW2 objects. The 3 small buildings appear much lighter when seen against the Gary Burns & Ted Andrews objects I'm using. I'd like to darken the wwii small building 1.bmp. I've got DXTBmp & MS Paint......
How do I darken (or lighten should I want) object textures for use in GW3.....?
Thanks, Terry.

I am not sure but it should be like threaten like any other texture. Just an idea: create a new layer over the original, fill it with black and change its opacity until you get the desired tone ( not with MS paint, though)
Or...you could just send me the files and I'll do it for you, it is a 30 seconds task.

Thanks. I'd be grateful if you'd explain how this "create a new layer over the original, fill it with black and change its opacity until you get the desired tone" is done so I can have a go myself. IF I muck it up I'll certainly send you the file. I've decided that it's just the roof that needs to be darkened as the brick walls are OK......

MS Paint won't do that for you. I'd suggest acquiring either Paint Shop Pro or Photo Shop. I use Paint Shop Pro primarily. In that case you open your bitmap in PSP, open the layer dialogue box, and use the add a raster layer function to add the layer you will flood fill as mentioned in the previous post. Here's a tutorial for Paint Shop Pro www.corel.com/content/pdf/paintshop/tutorials/197Layers.pdf

Thanks for the link - I'll get it. I have, however, been playing all morning with DTXBmp & MS Paint & at last have learned the trick of making it work. I spray painted the roof part of the bmp, saved, refreshed, saved in 256 colour & bingo. there was my bmp. I popped it into the texture folder, fired up GW3 & my brick buildings now have dark grey/green roofs & don't stand out any more. I feel some more camoflaging coming on

Good! that is how we all started; I remember there was "something wrong" that has to be "corrected"...any help you'll need don't hesitate to ask.
And Welcome to the "Painters Club"!
