100 years and a week ago a young man named Jorge Chavez was the first to cross the Alps with his Bleriot XI Monoplane. He lost his life after a successful flight while landing the plane when his wings fell off 10 m over ground. Here is a website dedicated to his flying days, very well presented: www.jorgechavezdartnell.com/Extra sugar: They have the original 28-page manual for the Bleriot plane available in full size. www.jorgechavezdartnell.com/documents/bleriotmanual.swfEnjoy!
