OK..I'm very late to the party. I have been flying FS2004 since it came out and never change over to FSX.
My PC can handle the sim..but I was always happy with FS2004 and didn't want to go through the machinations to change over a/c etc.
But I have seen the great scenery and a/c detail from FSX pix and thought I should step up and try it out.
Can someone list what would be the minimal installs and/or patches I would need to get FSX to speed? I have FSX in the box from the date it was issued; I just never installed it. So I guess this would be a "square one" install procedure to get to today's standard.
Do the FS2004 a/c port over? How much work am I actually getting looking at?

Hey Royce. You want to get SP1 for the basic FSX. Or, to get the most out of FSX, get the Acceleration package. I have a few FS9 aircraft installed in my FSX, some work good, some not at all.

Robert - After I get the Acceleration package, is there any other patches or mods that would be considered crucial? I would like to get the most out of the environment and scenery, keeping it as much to golden wings and silver wings as possible.
