I have been using my Windows 7 64 bits during the last time and I tried to install several games and software and all of them worked great (from Photoshop to Medieval 2 and Kingdoms). Only Fs2004 doesn't seems to like it and I am not able to install the simulation. It always stops at the end asking me to insert the Disc number 4 (when it is actually inserted). Nothing happens...
Any idea? does this happened to you too or some of your freinds?
BTW, I installed FS9 in "C:\Damian\FS2004" and not inside the "Program files" folder.

I have my FS9 running on a laptop, Damien.......no problems with it. It's on an external smart-drive (G:) and is installed as "G:\Fsim"
I also run it as a "no cd required" installation.

I am not certain this is the problem, but both my installs of FS2009 on my x64 machine under XP and Vista OS are in the Program Files(x86) which would use the WoW64 architecture to run it. I have never had a problem other than some video early on, but that was corrected with drivers. I really don't see any drawback to having it in the Program Files(x86) folder, mine runs smooth as silk as is. I will have to try it on my Windows 7 laptop, I usually use the laptop for schoolwork.

No problems installing FS9 and GW3 to Win 7-64. I installed both to one of my sections, D, away from where the operating system, C, is. Make sure you have admin rights with Win 7. Also possibly your #4 FS9 disk is bad?

Hi!
No problem with HP laptop under Win7-64 bit. MSFS2004 is installed in default location ( C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\).
Only old modelling programs requires virtual machine under Win-XP.

OK, it seems it can be done.
I have the suspicion it is due to "something" graphic (pesky laptop videocard?) or a faulty disc 4 ( the laptop is not intended for gaming). I will install FS9 in the gamer desktop later at the default location and see what happens. Anyway, I just bought a new FS9 set at Play.com set just for safety for the future.
I am new to W7 and I am running non-Vista\W7 games in compatible "XP SP3" mode and with admin rights.
A question for you all: does "Active Camera" works in W7?

I may have to switch to running FS9 on a brand new Windows 7 loaded Laptop. I am already having pre-overhaul nightmares at night. I can see the default scenery and the horrible ATC telling me to expedite heading 360 so I can get to my heading of 180.
The horror!
As for Active Camera. Do you have it? Or will you buy it. I suppose you have it.
I think I have seen videos of it being run under Vista, not sure about 7.
By the way, is it still safe to buy Active Camera. Will they really send me a download file?
