Being an amateur(in the not professional sense) historian and someone who loves golden era planes, I really enjoyed the photos and bits of history. Thanks for sharing. For some reason I'm also having the same problem as Bruce, the pictures on page 3 stop loading at about 70%. I'll have to try back later and see if I can see the rest of them.

Sorry, kbr. I should have split up the photos into smaller groups for faster loading on 56k connections. Let me know which was the last to load and I will re-post the missing pics from that set. Thanks! Wayne

Thanks for the offer, but I was able to see them all this time. Must have had a bad connection last night. Thanks again for sharing. I really enjoyed these.

Thanks Wayne and Junkers for the data on the Junkers 160. I think I would like to build that plane in the future for flight simulator. If you know of a 3 view drawing of one online somewhere, let me know.
Also, has anyone made a vintage Tempelhof for flight simulator?
Kind regards,
Bill

Bill, If you don't manage to find a three-view of the 160, I have a small one (not very detailed) in a book, that I could scan and email to you. Let me know if you need it. Leyland

Also, has anyone made a vintage Tempelhof for flight simulator? Not that I've been able to find, Bill. Perhaps with the aid of these photos some clever person will have a go. Bruce

Decided to scan and upload 3 items as they may help if nothing else appears. These are all from "World Encyclopedia of Civil Aircraft" by Enzo Angelucci. Hope this works (haven't used this "Image Upload" before!). Leyland

Nice job on the scans, Leyland. I've got that book, too, and looking at how small the 3-views are, the scans came out quite well. Love to see that one roll out of your hangar, Bill! Interesting thing I read about the Ju 60 and Ju 160 was that they marked a change in design philosophy from Junkers in going from corrugated metal construction to smooth skin. The Ju 60 had a smooth monocoque fuselage but retained corrugated wings, while the Ju 160 had a smooth wing and fuselage. Wish there were more detailed photos available of the cockpit windows. Looks like it has an interesting asymmetrical design from the 3-view but it's kind of hard to visualize from the angles in most photos. Tempelhof? Wouldn't that be nice! ;D Been looking for a pre-war scenery for that airfield...no luck. Apparently there is a slightly more modern version available (part of a payware package?), seen in some screenshots at: members.lycos.co.uk/Berlin_flightsim/

I'm sure I've seen an asymetric cockpit frame like that somewhere else, but I can't think where (not the He70, which is offset rather than asymetric, and doesn't have this kind of frame). Templehoff would be very nice (anybody listening?) and maybe another, to facilitate a traffic flow of these planes. Leyland

Didn't some of the Percival Gulls have asymetric cockpits and seats that were staggered rather than paired side-by-side? Can't find my pictures to check ....

Awesome scans Leyland! Many thanks. Many many thanks.
That will get me started. I am finishing up my present model but now that I have drawings for this girl, I can get ready. That is the main part for recreating a classic for FS.
Did Fairchild ever have 'anything' to do with this plane? I swear I have seen a 'Fairchild' with this airframe. I am wondering if they were brought to America through thier firm...
Thanks again,
Bill

It is vaguely reminiscent of the Fairchild 45 isn't it! Though perhaps there is a closer resemblence to the Vultee.

I still can't find an asymetric cabin quite like that one, although I'm sure I've seen one. But I did find another 3view (different but maybe not much better) together with a couple of photos. Do you want me to post them here again Bill? - Don't want to clog up the site/thread unnecessarily. Alternatively I can email them to you (or just forget it, if you have enough). Leyland
