I have JustFlight's Spitfire set & want to add gun muzzle flashes, etc, to a P51 & a Hurricane, like the Spits have, for screenshots to be added to a WW2 website.
I don't know how to add smoke & am learning. Can someone tell me what numbers to edit in the numbers below? [SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0=0.0, 2.35, 6.69, fx_jfgun01 As it stands the flashes need to be raised but what do I change? Thanks.

The numbers indicate location in feet, relative to the planes assigned center of gravity.... simply, 1st #= forward & aft of center (+ or -) 2nd#= right or left of center (+ or -) 3erd#= up or down from center (+ or -)
So, to raise the effect increase the 3erd number.
[If you're a fussy sort, substitute fx_navred for the flash effect and use the red nav light to pinpoint the barrel location. Or even add a second or 3erd smoke (smoke.1= etc) with different colored lights and different positions to save time in finding the sweet spot. ]
Once you play around with the numbers a bit it makes more sense.
P
PS: THE ABOVE IS FOR FSX SMOKE, THE SAME AS THE LIGHTS LOCATION [longitudinal, lateral, vertical =.......FOR FS9, THE SMOKE AXIS ARE vertical ,lateral, longitudinal....

Thank you. I'll digest what you tell me & get back to it.
So far I have this [SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0=+10.0, 3.00, 6.65, fx_jfgun03 smoke.1=0.0, 3.00, -6.65, fx_jfgun03 smoke.2=0.0, 3.00, 7.64, fx_jfgun03 smoke.3=0.0, 3.00, -7.64, fx_jfgun03
The flashes are lined up with the muzzles but are too low...can't seem to raise them whatever I do!

Terry,
You can't adjust the verticle in the [smokesystem] section in FS2004.
Like I posted over at SimV, you can either edit the location in the .fx file or move them to the [lights] section.
