Ryan PT 22 and Phenick Field for FSX

Our PT 22 project has just entered alpha testing and screen shots will be coming soon. Golden Age Simulations has teamed up with Twenty-Nine Palms Scenery Design twentynine-palms.de/ to create Phenick Field for FSX. This is a re-boot of Bill Lyons famous scenery only in the world of FSX, its 1939 and the U.S. Army Air Corps has contracted with the Phenick Flying Academy to train pilots using the PT 22. Here are some shots of the buildings. The scenery will be included in the PT 22 offering and as a stand alone offering from 29 Palms. More to come as the project nears completion.

Beautiful...plane and setting....."GASOLENE"....and not Gasoline...like some did did call it!....Phenick Flying Academy.wonder where it was?....however the plane is the thing..LOOKS GREAT!...nice work as usual..thanx Vin!

The original Phenick Field was in Newark Ohio, long gone now. There was a Phenick Flying Service. Ours is a fanciful re-boot mixing historical fact and what might have been. You'll notice that Gasoline has been properly spelled in a subsequent photo

What hangar macro did you use for the Newark PD hangar? It looks like a much improved version of Bill's old Stahang.api! The textures are drop dead gorgeous! ;D

We used Bill's textures as a starting point. The designer has a method for what he calls texture baking. Not sure what that means but I agree its absolutely incredible work. Here are a few more shots with enhancements. Beta testing in a week or so.

Of course,the plane....it will complement that scenery,as it will at any airport it sits in...sure to draw a crowded any where.....In my hanger,parked with the Pitcairn the Stearmans the Stinson "Junior"and so many others,...it will in in good company....NICE STUFF GAS,,,Thanx!!!..
