...What do we think so far from the information provded? Seems it's only Hawaii and only two aircraft, with no provision for third party add-ons!

Not my cup of tea, I'm glad to say. As I don't have an optimum computer for even FSX, I am not likely to miss not being able to fly over Hawaii in "Flight".
Being restricted to one area does nothing for my sense of adventure and neither does being limited to number and type of aircraft.
Uh-uh. This is not for me.

It will provide more exposure to Flight Slimming by many who never got involved.Price, ease of operation ,availability, simplicity ,adequate controls..will surly open the door to our world....Like in the very first Microsoft home desk top CP Flight Simulator. Those lines, nondescript places, only vivid imagination could help, and it was an instant success.,,and so it goes on. It was a Geneses experience, with the evolution of it still ,HOPEFULLY is going on! This Holiday,my two Great Grand Sons, were introduced to FLIGHT SIMMING...their response to it was astounding!..At 4yrs,and 6 yrs, they are more computer literate than most of us.More importantly, they like Airplanes!!!And Thats Great!!They went home, and are asking their Dad to take them to the Airport the were at on the Sim...AMAZING!! The Dream Of Flight introduced to the young is a gratifying experience....I'm sure at some point in our lives some one made the magic of flight an awareness we had to explore! I am waiting for such a Flight Sim like "FLIGHT"and what it may offer....,,"LET IT BE AWFUL,OR LET IT BE WONDERFUL,as long as we can experience it!!This as Flight Sim Explores New Venues!!...BRING IT ON!...CHEERS!! AOPA Says It’s said that a student pilot moves through four levels of learning: rote, understanding, application, and correlation. There’s a fifth level: inspiration! I think the inspiration is most important!!

I can't completely agree with Beana51 on this one! ;D If Microsoft Flight will be limited to the Hawaiian Islands, then I think it's going to suffer badly. Looking back at Fly2, Pro Pilot and Flight Unlimited II and you see a common thread. Fantastic scenery, 10 out of 10 in some cases, but nowhere to go! YsFlight has excellent physics and no global scenery base. FlightGear is another one! No scenery and the one's that you can download are 2 gigabyte chunks! I would rather have the scenery of FS2000 or FS2002 and great modability than scenery that's accurate down to an inch! ;D

Wonder if I'm referring to the correct "FLIGHT"..certainly they indicate a great variety of "THINGS" as shown here...Is this the "FLIGHT" we are referring to.?? if not what is??.Thanx guys..Vin www.microsoft.com/games/flight/NOTE!! "Start Exploring For Free.".....Could only the" FREE VERSION " be whats being indicated here?? Does anyone know?? After downloading Microsoft Flight for free, players can jump into hours of exciting gameplay on the Big Island of Hawaii. In addition, players who sign in to their Games for Windows – LIVE account automatically receive additional free content, including the legendary Boeing Stearman plane, supplementary missions, and access to Achievements and an Online Pilot Profile. Those looking to deepen their experience can purchase and download additional content that adds new aircraft, regions and customization options. The frequently released new content for Microsoft Flight includes daily aerocache challenges and updates that make every flight unique and fun.

Unsupported expectations lead to disappointment. This is Flight that is coming, NOT FS11. Instead of wringing your hands and wailing in the darkness, go flying in your favorite sim and wait for it. The setup will be FREE, try it, make up your own mind. Also, do not be confused by people who can't read. The setup will include the big island and 2 aircraft. It is FREE. There will be other planes and other detailed areas available for purchase. And before I hear "I'm not gonna shell out bucks for every area I want to fly in." What in heck are you doing now. $30 for this airplane, $40 for that scenery. For the end user it is the same thing so get over it. Wait for the release and try it. IT IS FREE.

Thanx Theo, for a definitive explanation...For Me ,it still seems the way for many to acquaint themselves with Sim flight...Hopefully we will still have our FSX,.as many do with the FSX....I recall the arrival of FSX not to long ago. That also was filled with many comments!..but BABY STEPS ,should not be discounted, but incorporated..after all its a GAME!
I will get this for my kids If only to keep them off of my toy! , But with the great graphics, and Beautiful Hawaii..they will be thrilled flying around in Stearman.Me Too!.....STAY DRY THEO..and THANX..Vin!!

I remember when I first got FS9 back in 2005. I just got a PC, my first, and walking through a store, I found a copy of FS9 and decided to give it a try. Installed, running, and wow, this is great. I can fly anywhere in the world, with several different airplanes. Took me a little while to figure out how to fly a plane, but I got it. At least at the default, easy settings with the keyboard. After awhile, I found the flightsim forums online, and found out that you could modify and adjust things like the display settings, the cfg files, and most important, addons. I can add new aircraft and scenery, this is really great. Next came a flightstick and learning to fly in the VC. The biggest thing that I liked, and kept me flying, was that I can fly anywhere in the world, with many different aircraft. Not sure if this new Flight will hold my interest.

This all is a great exchange of views...at SOH, the comments there are numerous and very interesting.!......Is it De Ja Vu all over again???..like when FSX ,made its appearance,,WOW that was an opinionated subject..granted that was a full flight Sim....again I for one will try anything in our world, heck, for FREE? ..like some of us fly ALL the Sims, FS9 and FSX co-exist for me...like Tom said,PAYING FOR STUFF? whats unusual about that?..question I have is does anyone have this?....The word ARCADE GAME pops up...Turns a lot of purist simmers off.
But again for first timers like my great Grand Kids???...better than most video games.I would think?...however,the power of individual choice is wonderful..some like Vanilla, and some like chocolate.,some like both, even strawberry!.....HAVE FUN ...!!
