Will I try "Flight" ......absolutely since it's free. (smile)
Have I watched all the videos and viewed the screen shots etc.,....of course, however, that's all pretty pointless in my opinion......too many computers....too many video cards......too many variables and to be honest, I truly haven't seen anything as yet that is much different than FSX running nice scenery from someone like Orbx etc.
So for me......bottom line......I'll probably see how the "after market" developers approach it. Of every Flightsim product I've owned....(and I've owned a few over the years, Smile)....... it's the after market guys and gals that REALLY make the products sing!
Just my nickel's worth.
Cheers,

Interesting . . . I noticed a few articles coming out this week on other forums and just read some more, including the most recent Microsoft press release, and watched the latest videos - looks pretty, the music is nice, the planes seem real, and what they say 'sounds' good . . . "In Microsoft Flight, players view the world from above in a visually stunning and realistic representation of the earth, complete with region-specific weather patterns, foliage, terrain and landmarks. Players can choose to take the helm using highly rendered, accurate cockpits and authentic piloting procedures, or simply use their mouse and keyboard to control the plane in an exterior view. More experienced players can tailor the flight controls to match their skill level, making Microsoft Flight easy for beginners while still challenging for the most accomplished PC pilots.
“Many people dream of flying, but few have the chance to experience the fun of exploring the world from above. Microsoft Flight provides players the opportunity to explore that curiosity and interest,” said Joshua Howard, executive producer of Microsoft Flight. “Aviation can be incredibly technical, but we’ve taken great care to build an experience that makes taking to the skies thrilling and accessible for everyone.” So, while I still thoroughly enjoy flight in FS2004 and all that it continuously has to offer (without being a 'game'), I will wait, as I did with FSX, and watch 'FLIGHT' to see if it develops into what they say it will . . . . . . how ever long that may take! Dan P.S. I did notice the recommended specs - phew! …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Hi, I got to my Beta on Tuesday, can't really say much because of the NDA. But, If you think this will replace FS9/FSX you will be disappointed, they still remain the best civil aviation sims to date ! But it is beautiful to look at as you may have seen from the screen shots posted at flightsim.com www.flightsim.com/main/notams12/flig0104.htmBut the lack of SDK and 3rd party input will put a lot of people off. Thats all for now Craig

Of course I think we should try it. It looks like a lovely experience, flying over the scenery of Hawaii. And maybe we should buy AeroflyFS too. Switserland is also a very nice country to explore. To be honest, I do a lot of flying over Holland, with the NL-2000 scenery. And I fly Holger Sandman's Glacier Bay. But I never fly from NL-2000 to Glacier Bay . So two simulators? Why not. But I'm afraid Microsoft is being honest. They closed Aces Studios and as I understand it, they were not going to make another simulator. And seeing what is going on between them and Lockheed Martin, Prepar3d, I can't help feeling that Flight will be a game. Not a sim. Theo

Yes, FSTHEO,ya make logical sense...Anything Flight is a "LOVELY EXPERIENCE"...For in our Sim Worlds Its A Game anyway...The OPEN MIND is a great thing...I have trouble getting it tho...May be none Available,Or the Requirements to get it confusing..To Me That Is...they ask for a "GAMER TAG"..I do not know what that is???...Maybe Craig may know!...Hows yer Weather??? Stay Dry My Friend!...Vin!!

The weather is back to normal Vin! Wel, no winter yet, they expect two or three nights with light frost, and then back to the rain and higher temperatures. Isn't a Gamer-Tag the login (logon?) you need to connect to Windows Live in this case? Theo

Yes, the gamertag is your Microsoft LIVE ID like your user name here and the SOH.
It can be anything you want as long as no one else has the same gamertag/ID.
