Just so you know where I am coming from on this issue as it seems I was again taken wrong at what I had written. Read this taken from the Microsoft Flight FAQ section.
The whole point of my posting on page three was to say that we as hardcore flyers won't be seeing things happen as they were with Flight Simulator. Microsoft is reverting back to the days of FSII in regards to keeping Flight as a contiguous entity. And, we will receive a free editon of the software and add game packs as our wallets allow. This way the sceneries and models will all have a consistancy of high quality, and be very compatible with the quality of the base program. Alot of what we got from the community as far as add-ons
goes was a mixed assortment of different quality levels of add-ons. These add-ons ranged from high quality and ran very well with the base simulator to the low quality which seemed to fight with not only the base simulator, but also other creators works. Not everyone read the SDK before they started to create add-ons for FS simulators, which made for many conflicts.
I think Microsoft has created a high quality simulator that may work across many system arrangements and still be enjoyable by many. The concept is to keep it that way by creating what the community wants at a fair price, and as high a quality and compatability as possible.
The Live concept is a good one, it allows the user to be in excellent contact with the developers to give and get instant feedback. Think about it, sure it is change, but if you want good quality and have the developer to listen to what you want, then bend a little and move up to the way things are. Sit down and take a good look before you leap or before you are ready to create negative opinions.
So, I am all for Flight and will be trying it out when the 29th rolls around, and then when economics permit, I will be buying the add-ons. Read into what I have written as much as you want, but this is my take on the whole matter.

We are pleased to announce that in preparation for the final launch later this month, the Microsoft Flight beta will be closing on February 14th, 2012. We’d like to thank all of you, our beta testers, for your invaluable help in getting Microsoft Flight ready for takeoff. As of February 15th, you will no longer be able to connect to LIVE from within the Microsoft Flight Beta and the Connect Site and the Microsoft Flight Beta site will both be taken offline. You may continue enjoying the beta offline through till February 29th, at which point we encourage you to download the final version from MicrosoftFlight.com Before you install the final version of Microsoft Flight, however, please make sure that you uninstall the beta by following the instructions below: · Uninstall Microsoft Flight from the Add/Remove Programs screen · Delete the following directories (if they exist). Navigate to them by pasting the paths given below in the address bar of Windows Explorer: · %UserProfile%\My Documents\Flight · %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Flight · %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\4d5308d3 · %AppData%\Microsoft\Flight
As a reminder, please abide by the Beta Non-Disclosure Agreement by not discussing your experiences with the beta with others until Microsoft Flight launches on February 29th, 2012. As a special thank-you, we will be giving our top beta contributors the Hawaiian Adventure Pack, the Maule M-7-260C, and the North American P-51 Mustang for free. We’ll also be giving out the Maule and the P-51 to a wider group of beta contributors. The e-mails containing the tokens for the final versions of the DLC will be sent out over the next two weeks (due to the impracticality of doing so, we will not be able to address individual queries about whether you will be receiving free content). Please note that we’ve determined contribution by considering a wide range of factors, ranging from productive participation in the forum to filing, commenting, validating or voting on bugs. We hope that you’ve enjoyed participating in the Microsoft Flight Beta and look forward to seeing you fly with us on February 29th. Thank you, The Microsoft Flight Team

The Old Hangar will open a Flight forum on or about February 29 to coincide with the release of Flight. I hope that in the long time spirit of TOH, we can be a "safe haven" for Flight users and be civil in our discussions. We will be joined by several new members (a couple have already joined up.) Some of the new people will be long time simmers who wish to avoid the negative experience of some other forums, but some will be new to flightsims and will need our help with terms and definitions, like VOR & NDB & ILS. I hope you will all make them feel welcome here. I'll be coming out of retirement for a while to moderate (with Roger's help) so make me proud of TOH for still being the friendliest forum on the web.

I was too busy with life the universe and everything to grab a beta so I can't wait to see shots and of course download Flight for my self! Hey Roger right there with ya. Can't wait to see what has developed. Plus, my rig is getting near 4 years old, so it will be good to see the reaction it will have. Welcome aboard all the new members, this should prove to be an interesting thread.
