I love looking at the sky. Here in the Caribbean it is often a deep azure with lots of fleecy cumulus. Or at least when it isn't too hazy, which is most of the time. Flight has lots of pretty atmospheric effects and the sky colors are some of the prettiest and most successful of them. The artists deserve a lot of credit for their beautiful work. Was that not Adrian Woods who did the environmental art for Flight (and previous versions of FS as well)? Best regards. Luis

Yup, the scenery etc are very good and I have always thought that (but not that much better than FSX) but I still think that the awful 'readout' across the top of the screen totally detracts from the overall effect. Isn't there any way to turn it off? I don't use Flight so I don't know.

Sure, Roger, It's very straightforward. Just go to Options and ... turn it off! ;D I'm a lot less picky than most people, and it's just a computer game to me, not reality. I never confuse the two. Extraneous displays don't bother me in the least. And, HUDs are becoming more and more common even with real airplanes. Even with small GA! And of course the effects are not revolutionary compared to FS because Flight is... FS. Just a little better in all regards concerning flight and the simulation of it, but with a lot less content. Best regards. Luis

In minds eye I always go back to FS9...A Mediocre game.....and in a few years with great input,it no where reflected its roots,a masterpiece for Home Desktop simmers!.....Ditto for the first much maligned FSX...I remember right here..The Pulling Of Hair,The Gnashing of teeth ,the hostility...the DOOM and Gloom...of its introduction.`Again LOOKATCHONOE....Now its the best thing to happen..and again thru designers and artists..Like the Bill Lyons of old.."FLIGHT" never had a chance..it was ASSASSINATED....sending the message to Microsoft, that we Simmers are a fickle people,a small people,a silly people .who dwell in the confines of the closed mind......Today here on TOH,there is not one post about any simming..and that tells me interest is waning!!...too bad....as Far as them all? FS9,FSX,and FLIGHT? I love them all..sadly no new Sims on the horizon......And thats not good!!..Latley "FLIGHT" is my pleasure...so too is FSX,as will be FS9...all contribute to home desktop flying...A Wonderful thing not available not to long ago!!..Cheers Men

I'm with you, Vin. My thoughts, exactly. This community is made up of too many grumpy old men (perhaps I'm one of them, although I strive to control it. ) Too much complaining, not enough enjoying. Bringing their rage from the real world into a computer game which is totally senseless. I love all flight games, the FS series and its latest version Flight, and all the others going back to the Spectrum HoloByte and MicroProse titles. I shall never be a real pilot and frankly don't care. Flight games allow me to live my fantasy of flight without all the inconveniences, and there are many, of the real thing. This community has killed the genre by its negative and violent reactions, and all for what? Where has that led us? Flight games are few in number and practiced by a declining number of people, who spend more time complaining than ... flying. I am spending more time here with you, Vin, and Tom, because at least the negativity is minimal here compared to all other places. These games are supposed to be fun, not an opportunity for discord, argument, or spiteful hate. Life is short and we are all quickly coming to the end. Ultimately, the only thing that counts is the good times, the fun, the enjoyment that we can find in our brief existence. Smile, laugh, enjoy for they are much better than grief and anger. ;D Best regards. Luis

Yes Luis This Grumpy Old man agrees..it took 80yrs to come to that conclusion, that life is short, all glory is fleeting. I manage to retain a "KID" like approach to toys and games..for this it what it is...I relearn that from my Great,Great Grand Sons...I have more in common with them, than all the Old Geezers of my world here in the afterlife. Yes I still "FLY",more often with a nephew now,for you see my untimely departure would be a huge burden for my people ;D....For you see "I'am A River To My People,of which they say ,,KEEP FLOWING..Dad,Keep Flowing!! .... I think my aviator says it well...the green stick first Sims...Man we thought they were great then...Now as the evolution of Simming progresses?...it gets SCUTTLED".....And we thought kids were spoiled brats...not so, OLD GEEZERS are the real Spoiled Brats!!..So my friend Luis, continue to have fun,as I do,Look at the bright side, and keep the open mind ,the true indicator of humble wisdom...Most of all HAVE FUN!!CIAO !..Vin
