TS2015 has been released. The free core technology update should start automatically when you log in to steam. Mine went smoothly. There was another smaller update to add the Academy feature.
The major DLC is not included with the free update and must be purchased separately as in the past. However a new UK High Speed train the Hitachi 801 is included free.
Also there is a flash sale 50% off on most DLC items until the 22nd.

Hi Tom.....I saw this yesterday also....however, was out of town on business. Arrived home today and "Updated" to TS 2015.
Seems like it looks a little better....(smile) but already I think I like the interface better. Anyway, I've only had about 15 mins. worth of "fooling" around. Need to get some of this paperwork into our Company system, and wouldn't you know.....the Sis decided this is time for a visit. (smile) Hopefully I'll get to give TS2015 a good try sometime this week.
I'd be interested in knowing what others are "Thinking" about the new update.
Cheers,

There's a patch coming later this week. That should resolve some graphics problems. I hope they rethink the menus.

(smile) I haven't really had too many issues, however, I haven't really spent too much time in the sim as yet. Next week I'm at the house all week, so hope to get some "fun time" for a change. Cheers,

I never was fond of the menus either, but I am getting use to them. I feel the graphics have improved since this last update, but I have no benchmark software to back me up, just seems better in my mind. I have the Penn Coal route (Norfolk Southern Coal District), which is pretty intense with scenery, and I find it runs quite well. With regards to my own personal railroad, I want to make it run well and have lots of things to do, not just those long runs from one place to another. You know, some events that serve a purpose and can be done within an hour to an hour and a half time, the route only spans about 35 to 40 miles of track with a coal branch. That's why I chose the old EBT R.R. as a model. The one thing I found is that AI won't work well with no signals as the EBT R.R. has no block system. The only signals they had were near the tunnels which were controlled by employees at the portal entrances.
I also find with the new update that the Route Editor works much better, especially in regards to elevation adjustments, but one still needs to save a lot when using the route editor.

John....glad to hear you like that route....it's on my "Wish List." My late Brother-in-Law worked / retired from Northfolk Southern after 40 years service. I've liked their livery's so I've been VERY tempted (more than once) to pick that route up. Screenshots look great etc., so glad to hear someone I trust has it and enjoy's it. I'm hoping this December will be another BIG Holiday sale like last year. (smile) Cheers,

I too am a fan of NS and more of when it was N&W. I think I was influenced by a young southern fellow from Virginia in our HO train club years ago. He always brought those brass high-nosed Alcos with him on Saturday nights. The Penn Coal route is for those who like running huge coal drags from the mines to the distribution points and that is what NS is all about, really. Loading one of those trains can take a bit of time. I think you might like it, I bought mine during one of the sales, so yah, I hope they have another holiday sale and not one like that last one when TS2015 was launched. I missed out on the Steam sale for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series as I had no money to spend at the time.
