Bruce, Us southerners are hearing about wild weather up your way. The news bulletin mentioned Yamba. How are you getting on?

We've had about 12" of rain over the past 36 hours, Nige. Only local flooding of paddocks and roads in low-lying areas...nothing serious. Would be nice to see some sunshine for a few minutes. Thanks for your concern.

Good to hear! We, on the other hand, have had quite normal weather, even summer was pretty mild. No long strings of very hot days.

We are in for it again......a southerly front is about to meet cyclone Debbie and apparently our region could receive upwards of 200mm between Friday and Sunday.

Well, the wind seems to have died down and now there is major flooding. How are you getting on?

Well, the wind seems to have died down and now there is major flooding. How are you getting on? Pretty good, Nige. The Clarence has flooded (minor) in South Grafton but here at the mouth all is okay. It's further north which has suffered....Lismore - worst since the floods of 1974..... and up into the border region and southern Qld. I'll be bloody glad to see the last of this monsoon season....when it finally goes. The effect it has had on the weather this far south has been terrible.

No, Roger. We are above the flood level...well, above what they call the 1-100 level, which is once every 100 years. Also too far south for crocodiles. But plenty of stories of snakes in those areas just north (Lismore, Murwillumbah, Coraki, Woodburn areas). Diamond pythons and brown snakes the most common.
