Yes indeed Vin.....it's just around the corner. Growing up in Kansas, Christmas and the fall/winter season always seemed special with a certain "magic" in the air. Since leaving home and living mostly in California......that magic has never quite been the same. Not sure if it's because we're still seeing temps in the low 90's here.....all the crazy people etc., but sometimes I miss those "magic" moments of childhood.
Anyway.....you said it best.....it's coming whether or not I'm ready. (smile)
Cheers,

MERRY CHRISTMAS OLD FRIEND.......On A Footnote Wondering about Bruce?... And right back at you Vin....but I'll be back to wish everyone here A Merry Christmas. It wasn't long ago I realized that being in the military for so many years and moving around.....I had friends that came and went and we just never really stayed in touch. Too busy with life things I guess. My dear friends here at TOH have been with me now longer than any other friends I've had......how sad it that? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I couldn't have picked a better bunch of folks anywhere!!!!! I've been so Blessed!!! So yes.....I'll be back dear friend to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!!! I too have been wondering about Bruce!! Hope he'll pop in here when he has some time and give us an update. Cheers!!

Speaking as a British immigrant to Australia, admittedly arriving when I was only twelve years old, I have always felt that Christmas in full summer heat does not really work. it is a bit hard to enjoy a full, traditional Christmas dinner when the temperature is over 100F, and I always felt sorry for the womenfolk, sweltering to cook it. But when I lived in London for a few years I found that in winter, Christmas actually works! The cold weather encourages indoor social gatherings, with plenty of Eat, Drink and be Merry! I really enjoyed Christmas in London and and got right into the spirit of it all.
Having said all that, Enjoy Christmas as best you can, wherever you happen to live.

I really enjoyed Christmas in London and and got right into the spirit of it all. Ahhhhh......Christmas in London!!! Now wouldn't that be the "Dickens"!!!! (smile) Yes Nige.....I would have to agree....that would be the place for it!! While it doesn't get into the 100's here during the winter months. I must admit that today....the 1st of December, I drove around town on my errands with the top down on the convertible in a tee-shirt and shorts. (smile) A nice frosty day with a good cup of spiced tea would sure get me more into the spirit!! Cheers,
