Looks kinda quiet here. Anyone still checking in?
I turned 80 on last Nov 28 and to be honest, I'm feeling it. I have the new flight sim but I'm not using it much. I have the newest versions of 3 train sims and not using those much either. My ex-wife keeps me active with travel & stuff, or I would become a hibernating slug. I'm content most of the time to wrap up in a blanket in the recliner and read.
I hope all you "survivors" are all doing well. Keep smiling! -tom

I check in every single day. I have not played flightsim for quite a few years. I had a big system built up over years with dozens of planes, real weather, the best scenery I could find for the entire world, everything I could find to make it more realistic. I could go on and on. Then one evil day my hard drive crashed and it was all gone. I had much of it archived on CDs but I did not have the heart to start again. I still enjoy reading our other old regular's postings and I post the odd thing myself, but The Old Hangar will be in my favourites list until either it goes or I do.

Ditto Nige, Tom. Every morning, religiously, as I have my first cup of the day. Congratulations for getting to the Big Eight-Zero, Tom. Good to read that you are still enjoying life and are content with what you do. Like both of you, I haven't rotated off a virtual runway for some considerable time. I still have Flight Sim installed....it's all there, exactly as I left it some years ago. I never bought the new one; I was going to but I think my interest had waned by the time I thought about doing so. Train-sims still attract me but not as much as they used to. I spend a lot of time reading, playing my keyboard (music, not computer), playing my other keyboard (computer, not music) as I research stuff and wander through some forums, community radio sessions twice a week and walking. Spending time in hospital was a big exclamation mark for me and I think I'm more relaxed since then, which is good. I certainly feel better than I have for a long time. Take care, blokes, and keep checking in. It's nice to see a post from the old denizens of the hangar.

Well....it's been a while since I've checked in, however, still think about everyone quite often. Since retirement a year ago, I've been busier now than ever..... I guess that's how it's suppose to be. (smile)
I do some flying occasionally, but spend most of my computer time farming anymore. (smile) I recently uninstalled Railroad Sim etc., but picked up Trainz 22. Years ago I had an older version of trainz and seemed to like it, so I decided to give the newer verison a go. I had forgotten how much fun Trainz could be.
Take care everyone....I promise to check in more frequently.
Cheers,

Well....it's been a while since I've checked in, ...., Definitely! I thought you'd checked out, Steve! Good to see that you're still around and enjoying life and, yes, you are supposed to be busy in retirement, mate.

If my experience is anything to go by, retirement is the best time of life!

I'll second that, Nige, with one slight negative: your sex life is nothing like it was when you were 30!!

I'll second that, Nige, with one slight negative: your sex life is nothing like it was when you were 30!! LOL. I seem to remember something about a sex life... I saw a great t-shirt recently: "The older I get, the Better I was."

T-shirts can be great. I once saw a barman wearing one that said 'the liver is evil and must be punished'.

I saw one recently here on a middle-aged woman... "I'M A VIRGIN" and then in brackets underneath in smaller type "(This is an old T-shirt)".
