Earning my keep in some little ways ;D Something I came across on the Sockwave forum. I have all but one of their aircraft so I spend some time there. There is a problem in FSX with VC windows going opaque when it rains for some Shockwave craft. The solution is also an upgrade for all FSX users who fly any developer's aircraft in the rain. Replace the FSX VC rain files with The FS9 files. The FS9 files are much larger and much more refined then the same files in FSX. Seems Microsoft wanted to limit the memory usage in all the little ways in FSX. I have replaced the FSX files with the FS9 files and to my eyes the difference in quality is very real. Background at: www.shockwaveproductions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9177&highlight=rainOn top of this Joe Binka had created an Enhanced edition of VC rain for FS9 and it is this edition that I used to replace FSX files. The enhanced version is contained under the program file title MODVCRAIN.ZIP I will do a search to see if I can relocate were this file might be downloaded. I use ISO buster or mount with DAEMON (both free ware and very good to have) to extract Cab files from ISO images of FS9 when ever I need something from my ISO images of FS8, FS9, FS10 but for FSX users who no longer have the disks or have not created an ISO image finding Joe Binka's file is the answer. I will search to day or I can send the files some how. The VC rain files are found within the main FSX Texture folder. A simple and free to implement upgrade. Jacques

For folks that don't know, Joe Binka is good stuff, thanks my friend for the link, we are all in this together. And God knows there is much for me to learn.
