Sorry folks, No matter what I do, I cannot get any of the Bill Lyons stuff to work. I have installed each plane separately AND read the instructions. I have tried the "saved flights", I have tried crating my own, I have started at default airports, I have tried the various addin sceneries (Emma et al). Push the throttle forward. PC / FS9 crash. Bluescreen. It is the same fault report each time: BCCode : 100000d1 BCP1 : 8A8069FB BCP2 : 0000000A BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4 : B9E761DA OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1 ... and there are also pointers at the following files in the Windows errer message: C:\DOKUME~1\CHRIST~1\LOKALE~1\Temp\WER97cf.dir00\Mini081905-04.dmp C:\DOKUME~1\CHRIST~1\LOKALE~1\Temp\WER97cf.dir00\sysdata.xml I can fly FS9 with other planes no problem, even with the Bill Lyons plane installed. No crash. The minute I try anything with a "BL" - - crash. Hard reboot only...

Wow... That's a new one on me. No idea what that error message means. Is your FS9 English or German language? Is your install to the default location? Have you modified the scenery folder? The scenery that comes with Bill's planes uses several scenery sub-folders. Give us any details you can, it may trigger an idea form someone.
Later... I had an idea. I see your WinXP is German language so perhaps some of your FS folder names are different than their English counterparts. Its possible that parts of the install have gone astray

Try removing the panels, just rename the panel folder to panel_x or something!!
If this doesn't help, try this on the sound folder!!
If still no joy in sim land, try the planes without textures!!
You can also rename the panel, sound, textures in the aircraff.cfg if you feel comfortable messing with that!!
Let me know!!??

Ah, Tom, that's a point - I am running the German language variant and that has been a bug for other FS9 planes too in the past. I Certainly couldn't load the Aussim Warrior at first - that needed a fix... does Bill come in here occasionally?
I do find the correct folder. I have also "installed" to a "dummy" folder and tried the aircraft only. No joy either.
Of course - i am not really worried about the bmp addins, they don't "bite", but I am worried about perhaps some of this API stuff.
Anyway, I shan't be doing much FS9 stuff for a while - no paints, no flying, not much forum time....
My desktop has died again - I cannot switch it on at all. Oh, I get the power on and the fans all start blowing.
I even get the CD ROM drive action lights to indicate something - but that is all.
No "Beep" from the PC and no indication on the monitor that the BIOS is even sniffing.
DEAD.
Any advice? I am on my laptop for now. So restrictive use...

Ouch! Probably time to reinstall Windows...
See if you can boot in Safe Mode, or do a system restore...

Yes, but he has ISP problems at the moment Ouch... perhaps someone else with German language FS can help here. Can you boot in safe mode and try a system restore?

Chris, not sure if this will help, but here are two sites that discuss issues involved when a computer will not boot up - at all - see the 7th paragraph of the first site. Rather then repeat everything they said, here are the direct links. www.rlrouse.com/computer-wont-boot.html. www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/47842/ If that isn't it, then it could be connections to the Motherboard or the Motherboard is broken/gone - hopefully this is not the case. Try contacting the manufacturer to see if there is a work around. Have you tried 'kicking' it yet?Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue!

Kick didn't work
Nor did PSU change...
It's off to the shop. I do hope it is not related to the reason why I could not load any of Bill's CC airplanes... (the reason I started this thread in the first place)...
Something's shot in my system...
ah well

Now for the big laugh... Just go home. Ansafone blinking. Recognised the number as the "shop".
Ansafone broke - no record! Got to phone the shop to ask what they said - tomorrow, 'cos it's too late already.
Aaaaarrrggghhhh! Bloody high tech stuff in my flat is failing all around me! And I swear I talk nicely to the pot plants...

I phoned the shop...
"Motherboard is broke"... and that at 7 weeks old! Ah well - warranty case. The shop has to order a replacement, so I am dead for a while - which still leaves the question of Bill's CC planes crashing my system.
ho hum...

I had a similar problem, re-read Bills html doc and decided to bin the in cockpit cd audio player thingy gauge.
They all work great now, albeit I find the Apache for some reason is a framerate hog.
