Sound is unbearably distorted. Anyone have a solution for that?
Thanks again- Looks great.

Its only in ZEP flights as well. Everything other than the zep works fine. Happens in both FS9 and GWINGS.
I'll try redownloading it. Maybe corrupt install.

I went into the the new install files. While I realize some minor distortion from old recordings exists, the WAV File Wave2a of ducks and water has massive distortion. I downloaded this twice from Ickie's site. I listened to all the ZEP aircraft sound files and only that one seemed excessively bad.
Could someone possible email me this Wave2a file. Thanks.

My copy of Wave2a has lots of noise over the geese sounds. And that goes back to the final beta so I thinkl Bill meant it that way. I will post it for you to try when my other computer gets back from the massage parlor. I hope tomorrow.

Thank you for that.
Then its probably not that file thats giving me sound distortion in the flights. I really have heavy quiet distortion. I turn my volume way up and it just increases the noise. No problems with nonzep flights. . I'll try starting a zep in a non premade flight. BRB.
Well I tried Zeppie on GHAW Honolulu. Same problem, I have to turn up my speaker really loud to hear anything and heavily distorted. Hmm.

OK, there's the deal. The cabin of the Graf is so far removed from the engines that the engine sounds were intentionally muted. There is also a muted creaking sound of the gas bag flexing along the girders. The sounds in the Graf are not at all like the sounds in the DC-3 for example. Click on the cup at Herr Eckner's station(far right) and you should hear the music clearly. But the ambient and engine sounds are muted by design so turning up the volume will indeed result in distortion.

My copy of Wave2a www.theoldhangar.com/Wave2a.zipBut I don't think it will make any difference because I think what you are hearing as distortion is not meant to be played as loud as you may be playing it. All engine noises etc are supposed to be faint and there should be an almost constant creaking sound as ribs, stringers and gas bag continually adjust to wind and air pressure.

Thank you for posting that. I think thats not the solution but-
I know what you mean, but this is an extreme distortion that overpowers the other sound at any level. Something is just not right. I have total clarity of sound with Golden Hawaii or any other aspect of FS9. Something is kaput. Maybe on April 1 I can try a package from your files? I hate to be a bother.
Anyone else used the file from the Ickie posting with success?

I guess desperation makes one find a solution. It had nothing to do with the ZEP install being corrupted or distorted files or anything. I thought I'd push through that one sound utility that came with my new rig.
My MSI motherboard comes with a Sound Manager that had a setting 8CH + S/PDIF (optical & Coaxial) ... whatever that means. I switched it to 6CH and sound is now fine for all the zep stuff. Thanks Tom for sending me that file and for taking the time to respond to my ignorant solutions.
This addon is fantastic by the way. The Music wav is inspiring flying into Manhatten. Best addon I have for FS9. Thanks again.
