Hey Guys,
I've just discovered the fabulous Bill Lyons travel air package. ;D (I know, I know, it's been out forever but I don't get around as fast as I use to). I feel the need to do a little train racing but it seems that I'm always on the wrong side of town. Does anyone know when the trains are running? By the way, I do have the AI Traffic density set to 100% and both general and airline traffic boxes are checked. Thanks for any push in the right direction.
Bill

Hi Bill, The best way to see the trains is to access one of the travel air flights. You'll get instructions how to find a train.
Roger.

Thanks Roger,
I have tried the included flights, even the one where you drive the crusier to the railroad tracks and just sit and wait for the train to come by. I think I stopped waiting after ten minutes because I figured that if it hadn't come by then, something wasn't set right. Have you tried that particular flight?

Hi Bill, I've only used the airborne 'flight' and if you follow the directions you should find the train. You should be able to see the track, added by Bill Lyons.

Bill Bill- Are you getting traffic at the field? There should be 4-5 planes besides yours when you start the flight.

Wow! Roger, that's what I'm talking about. No, I don't see that although I do see the tracks.
Tom, as a matter of fact I don't see any other planes besides my own. I think I may try to do a reinstall and see what happens. Thank you so much for the push in the right direction.

Hi Bill, You didn't see the train because you can't just wait at the tracks for 10 minutes, the train is actually quite slow! After flying southbound on the tracks (For about 3-5 minutes), one of the locomotives came huffing down the bride across a river. So, fly south until you hit the river, if you are flying at 120 MPH you should see it when you get to the bridge. OR, You can download this flight file that will place you right on top of the train. Throw it in to your Golden Wings Files folder and load the flight. savefile.com/files/182928Good luck! -Kobbe

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Tom, your question about the AI planes on the field was what led me down the path to the solution. For some reason, the AI traffic file was placed in the correct location but FS didn't update itself to read it. I went to the scenery library and clicked "edit area" and pointed it to the scenery\world folder. Then I shutdown and restarted the program and selected a flight. I knew I was on the right track when I saw the planes on the field. I fired up the ol' trusty Travel Air and headed off toward the north and what did my tired eyes see on the horizon? The smoke from a train careening down the tracks toward town. What a blast!!

Hey Guys, Wanted to show you that I got the train running and I found this to be the best position for viewing the train. Is this too much fun or what? Thanks for all your help! Bill
