I had to re-install my original (purchased) Custom Classics Stinson last night to get some of the gauges that, for some reason, up and disappeared awhile back and while the install into GW3 went just fine, I noticed that the original AM/FM radio in the back seat does not work.
Actually, I don't think it ever did, but I did notice that the 'freeware' version of the Stinson that Bill released a year or so ago, had a different radio and it did work. That installation was/is in FS9, so my questions:
1. Does the original (wood) radio work - how?
2. If not, can I install the freeware version radio into the original purchased version ? If so, how?
3. How much of a difference and/or updates was there in the freeware version Stinson compared to original version - purchased 5/28/04? The only things I've noticed is the radio. I do like the custom name plate - thus the reason for installing the original version.
Any help would be great, as the music Bill used adds to the overall enjoyment of flying his planes. Actually, I think its the same music as in the Travel Air, but excellent nevertheless for that era.

Save your custom nameplates. They are in the main textures folder and install the freeware version. It runs better in FS9 and it has additional paints. Then copy your custom nameplates back into the textures folder and have the best of both worlds. You can also modify the generic nameplate files in just about any paint program. The filenames are stinplate.bmp and pietplate.bmp
