Anyone (Tom for instance ;D) happen to know where the texture area for the wing reg. on the Reliant is located. Found the indexed .bmp for the fuselage sides but this one wants to play 'hard to get'. Rgds: Jeff

The N-Number is a gauge, rather than a texture. I am assuming you want black (or dark) lettering. What you will need to do is make a folder panel.2 and copy the contents of the panel folder into it. Then open custom.cab and find nstinson.xml. Open that in notepad and find the line: <Text X="90" Y="25" Bright="No" Length="8" Font="arial, bold" Color="#F0E2C1" Adjust="Center" You can change the font if you wish and you can change the color of the lettering by changing the hex string. Black, for example is #000000 blue is #0000FF and red is #FF0000. White is #FFFFFF so you can see that Bill used a "cream" color
This is from memory and I haven't done it since I helped Leon with Cub repaints so back up and experiment.

Now that's an imaginative way to put reg. no.'s on the plane! Thanks Tom.

By the way, I used PicoZip to extract and rebuild the cab file. There's a trial version available at download.com

Ha, if it wasn't for Cabdir I wouldn't have a chance to relive the glory days of DOS Tom. ;D I decided to remove the text element from the XML and just use the bitmap since this and some other repaints are going to be Stinsons that are actually flying today. (Gotta do something whilst I wait for the Trimotor ). It allowed me to get a little fancier with the reg., but the small size of the .bmp (150X50) is a bottleneck as you can see. Still looks blocky and a little washed out. I think I'll enlarge the size of the bitmap itself, adjust the XML for the larger bitmap, and make up a separate .cab for each panel folder. The larger .bmp size should get rid of that chunky look although they'll be slightly bigger .cab files than the original. I've gotta admit that Bill's idea of using a custom gauge for the original payware models was an elegant little solution. Hats off to Bill! Rgds: Jeff
