Quite a coincidence to find out two are being built! Personally, I love this plane... ;D I'm starting to get somewhat far on the basic shapes, but I am new at this, so please feel free to point out areas where I may improve. I'm sure I will be redoing some of this. The project was started in FSDS 2, but I decided midstream to start over in Gmax. I did manage to import the guy wires and struts though, so that saved a few hours.

I thought I was the only person in the world who knew what a Mystery Ship was, let alone vintage air racers. It's great to see so many people interested in this gathered in one spot. Should this little experiment prove successful, I may move on to a GeeBee or the Supermarine S-6. The H-1 Racer is not totally out either. But this all depends on what ends up happening with the Mystery Ship. BTW, there's a pretty good article on that Replica in this month's copy of Air Classics... ;D Kevin

Kevin your project looks super! Keep it up! There is still the Texico 13 version of the Mystery Ship to build. It certainly an important version that needs to be done. What ya say Gil, should we?

Well I could use someone to handhold me through the rougher parts of this. Perhaps a collaberation would be in order?

Kevin Hey Kevin- You need to get out more You have had a sheltered life. Check this page for your S6 and others www.transglobalaircraft.co.uk/10130/20654.htmlAnd then there's this at SOH H1B.zip (3.08 Meg) by Tim Piglet Conrad FS2004 Hughes H1B Racer The sleek Hughes H1B Racer was built for Howard Hughes to set a Trans-America speed record in 1937, and a world speed record in 1953. Hughes set a record of 7 hours, 28 minutes from Burbank Ca., to Newark, NJ. The H1B was earier fitted with short wings for setting a world speed record of 352MPH. And there's one free GeeBee and 2 payware, but probably some models still missing... And besides Mike Stone's Spartan Exec, Milton Shupe and friends are building a new one. However, Taylorcrafts are indeed wanting I know I am wanting one.

Milton Shupe is building a Spartan!? That is good news indeed; he does great work. I fell in love with that plane at Oshkosh this year. I have Mike Stone's Spartan, and no ofeense to Mike, but it's not the best plane he's ever done. Once I put the chrome paint job on and updated the panel, it helped a lot. Thanks for the link. I'm off to fly the S-6! ;D
