I just uploaded a six-pack of paints for the VC version of Chris's Boeing Model 40. They're the same six liveries I painted for the non-VC version, but they had to be reworked because of mapping changes to the new VC model.
Chris asked for permission to include my paints with his release of the VC version and I agreed. But while he was moving parts around on the texture files to account for the remapping he took it upon himself to make some changes that reduced their authenticity, then released them with my name on the textures and no explanation for the changes. I demanded that they be withdrawn from distribution and they were.
The changes were minor but eye-catching; he changed the colors of the landing gear and wheels on most of the paints, and he removed the cooling gills from the engine faceplates on all of them. I never got an explanation for why he did that, and he seemed very upset that I objected to his alterations.
He then re-released the VC model with uncredited copies of my American Airways and Pacific Air Transport textures with a few more minor changes, which he apparently felt were enough for him to give the impression that they were his own work. On the American Airways paint he substituted a modern American Airlines insignia for the correct American Airways one. On the Pacific Air Transport paint he removed the registration from the lower wing and replaced the one on the top wing with a different style of lettering, apparently copied from a 3-view drawing (my original style was copied from photographs.) He also replaced the authentic red and green Railway Express logos on both planes with a sepia-toned version applied backwards.
Well, at least he didn't associate my name with his inaccuracies that time!
Anyway, I've altered the original, authentic textures to account for the mapping on the new model, so now the same six authentic liveries are available for the VC version of the Boeing 40.
Since Chris apparently forgot to texture the leather cockpit coaming on the VC version of the model, leaving it to appear white on the plane, and apparently doesn't think it's worth bothering to fix, I included a recolored copy of the model file with the repaint pack.
The paint pack just went up to FlightSim and the Outhouse this morning.
