Are we required to use a 3rd party image hosting site to post pictures? If not, and I hope not, where is the forum uploader in the reply section? I couldn't see it.

Yes, you need to locate your image at an external site and then link to it when posting here.

Martin Yes, images must be remotely hosted. There is no method for uploading to these forums. I can't afford the bandwidth and I don't want to ask for and manage donations.

Well, hell - look at that - it worked!! After almost two years from the time Roger gave us the instructions to start this thread, I finally got around to posting a screen shot! Seems the instructions worked perfectly as easily as stated - thanks Roger! Now, I don't see any difference between the two even though one is 1024 x 768 and the other is 800 x 600 and both are almost the same kb size (65/50). So, referencing another post somewhere else, that stated 800 pixels is better for forum format viewing relating to sizing the screenshot, I'm somewhat confused as to how one gets it to fit the smaller format (so you see the entire picture without have to scroll the screen over to see the rest of the screenshot). Can someone clarify - thanks!! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Your right - what happened - lets try this again . . .
. . . and I get the same results. I reduced the size to 800x600 using the Photobucket "Reduce Size" feature and then again to 640x480 and in both cases the screen shot "Properties" of both reflect the correct size reduction and the label in Photobucket also reflects the sizes noted, but upon coping/pasting here, both end up the same size as the original (1024 x 768).
Something is being missed somewhere. Any ideas . . .
Dan
Update: Now it seems their properties both register 640x480 - so I'm not sure what is going on. If they look fine and fit well, then I'll continue to post as is from Photobucket.

Looking good! and where has that envmap come from? I'd like to give it a try myself.
I find photobucket very useful and easy to manage than other hosting services.

Thanks Windrunner!
The envmap I use is reflections.zip at AVSIM or envmapv2.zip at FlightSim by Tom Knudsen. It's been around for awhile and he provides two versions in the same file. I use the "Alternative" version, which tones down the reflections, but keeps the polished aluminum effect to almost true to life.
Now that being said, it looks very real on most aluminum paints, but on some, especially early FS9 models, it is still to much reflection. I noticed this on the WOP B-17G a couple of weeks ago while fly it in the WWII mission I've started.
So . . . I started looking around again and experimented with Real Environment Professional (Pro) the other night and mixed/matched different bits and pieces of it, i.e., sun, corona, halo, etc. and ended up with what you see. Of course, this is also mixing 3 years worth of textures, BEV, and pieces & parts of who knows what, but that's what displays now. I like it and the results are great with most planes including painted ones (King Air & Citation X look like they just got a new paint job), but Warwick Carter's newest P-51 now looks sick - too 'blue' - so the saga continues and will probably never end . . .
Your right, Photobucket is a piece of cake and again, thanks for the advice on MGrab - easy to use and works great!
