With a great deal of personal sadness I must inform all his friends, that Leon passed away on the 14th. As one who has known Leon since before his first scenery or aircraft re-paint I took for granted that he would always be around. His passing reminds us that we all are going out through the same gate, so enjoy every moment.

The sim community has lost one of it's greats. Leon collaborated on our WACO Taperwing project and I am fortunate to have spent many hours chatting with him on line. He was a fine man with a great sense of humor and a great talent. He will be sorely missed.

All I can say is ditto to all comments. It's truly sad when we lose one of ours and Leon will always be a part of our community.

Ah, that's really sad to hear. I was just thinking about him the other day - hadn't seen him in the Hanger for awhile. As others have noted, I always enjoyed his sense of humor - going back to Bill's forum. You could always tell he enjoyed doing his repaints and even more so, he enjoyed contributing them to the community - guess that's what it's all about! He will not be forgotten - as all one has to do is start up a plane 'painted by Leon Louis' and away he will fly - his colors highlighted against that bright blue, blue sky . . . Dan …it’s great being a kid again – sometimes!

I have downloaded quite a few of Leon's artistic efforts. Obviously he was a man who loved the hobby. Sorry to hear the sad news.

This is sad. He gave us many hours of his time and effort, and with excelent results.

Many thanks for all of your airports, repaints, and help with the Bellanca. Thanks much for your kind friendship. You will be missed greatly and perhaps someday, we will meet again.
