beautiful weather you've in Maine, haven't you ? Well you've well deserved your one day summer I guess . The sea looks like it is oily flat... And what a program ! Looks great. Polka for you Tom ? BTW i didn't know there was a (fiddling) community of French extraction in Maine. Makes sense though with Acadians and Quebecers so close. I suppose there are monstruous heaps of lobsters at every corner ? hmmm, wish I was there enjoy your evening...

It was an interesting and entertaining evening. I saw the opening show at the "Heritage Stage" An Irish traditional band called Danu. Then I wound my way through the food stalls sampling a little of this a little of that. I made my way early to the "Penobscot Stage" and got a nice 3rd row center seat for a Piedmont Blues duo named Cephas & Wiggins and stayed right there for an electrifying R&B performance by Bettye LaVette. www.danu.net/www.io.com/~tbone1/blues/bios/cepwig.htmlbettyelavette.com/On my walk home I could hear a Zydeco band playing in the dance pavillion and as I readhed the top of the hill near my house I caught a little bit of Wanda Jackson singing an old Elvis song. I think I'll go back tomorrow...

Yes, it was dead calm today, though to be honest, that's a big island (Ilseboro 57B) on the horizon and we were still in Penobscot Bay No Polka for me LOL, I love the Blues... And Celtic/Breton traditional. Yes, a large part of the Maine population are of Acadian or Quebequois families. In border regions it is not uncommon for brothers and sisters to have been born in either country. But regarding lobsters, at 5-7 Euros each in the fish market and 10-15 Euros in a restaurant, they are not as common as they once were. Its a nice place to live though the Winters can be long and the Summer is always too short.
