Among other acts, I went back and saw Cephas & Wiggins again and as an extra treat, I ran into Phil Wiggins in the shopping district. I was heading home to soak my feet and he was getting "out of the crowd for an hour" He told me about their own website where CDs can be purchased. Check it out... there are some 20 second samples too... www.cephasandwiggins.net/sorry for the blur, I took it over my head.

Nostalgia... That memories, I remember my beginning to the guitar to play Big Bill Broonzy... Good festival Tom. Hi Jean-Francois- Remembering Big Bill Broonzy made me think back to my first taste of the Blues... I went to Newport, Rhode Island in the Summer of 1959 to hear Folk singer Pete Seeger and heard so much more... Here's the program... I only saw the Saturday show users2.ev1.net/~smyth/linernotes/articles/pgrm1959Newport/Newport1.htmWhen I went looking for recordings by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, I found Big Bill as well...

Tom, It looks like you had a great time. I have always enjoyed those type of events. Years ago I helped set up for a folk festival at the Waterville Valley Ski area in NH. At the time Marshall Dodge was one of my favorite comedians, in fact I used to do some of his skits of Bert and I at different functions. Marshall was one of the featured acts at the festival, and I had the great fortune of setting with him back stage, and swapping jokes. It was one of the high points of my life. Marshall was one funny guy.
