Dear friends, Someone is bashing my Sandspit product (and others) in a so called "customer review" over at Simmarket.com. He says: (I quote) "I don't know what this guy is doing. I bought 1 of his old scenery packages, and I didn't like them 1 bit. Almost all of the scenery were created by someone else. This package is no exception. He even stole the wale from orcas island. With permission or not, you would think he would creat his own scenery objects." As you all know, this is all untrue and my object designers can attest to this. the Scenery was all done by myself and you all know this by watching in progress screenshots. I want to find out just "how" this guy has attained my projects when his name does not show up in ANY of my sales reports. Odd huh? If anyone has a Simmarket account and wants to come to my rescue here I would much appreciate it. This is most likely another developer that is ticked because his scenery is not selling well or has been put up to this by another developer. It makes me very upset to think of all the hours I have spent on these projects and to have someone type a few words that tear it apart. The review is here: secure.simmarket.com/product_reviews.php?products_id=1955

Thanks. I found it to but he has never purchesed my scenery r any other products. I found a Hector Davila (projects manager & developer) for "Fullthrottle Simulations" so it appears that he is bashing me just because I am competition. Sad huh?
What I really need is my customers and friends to go post some honest reviews. I don't want all 5 stars but just honest reviews, thats all. I live (unless provoked) by the old rule "if you cant say anything good about someone just sany nothing at all" but it seems he libe by a different set of standards.

I wouldn't be able to help you find this guy, but I can tell you one thing, by his writing it's probably just a sole-loser who wants to make someone else look bad because of the responses to his scenery creations. I have had tons of bad responses to alot of things I have made, but I just shrug them off and continue doing what I love to do, whether that be video production or even FS things. I wouldn't let this one guy ruin the pride in creating sceneries, you earned it and you aren't going to let someone destroy it.

Thanks Reddog. Hope you enjoy it... even though I swiped the "wale" from orcas island. I was not aware that the developers of orcas island owned the copyright to orca whales. What a joke huh? But never the less, why is Simmarket letting someone who never purchased my product post a review on it?

How can I post the review? I signed up at SimMarket and am ready to do some counter-action! I did get to the review section and saw that review, though.

Yes, it seems that people can only post bad reviews not good ones there. Maybe it's time to pull all 15 (or more) products of mine from Simmarket huh?

Keith- Send an e-mail to Miguel. I doubt he would approve of Davila's review especially if he is not a customer.

If it was me selling the item and receiving the income I would probably leave the products there. Although, maybe the bad reviews could influence the amount of downloads you get. He didn't criticize the quality of your work, so I would say it should be fine there.

I have just sent this communication to Simmarket from whom, I might add, I have bought several packages over the past six months.
You call this a review?
============================== Hector Davila, 06/29/2006 I dont know what this guy is doing. I bought 1 of his old scenery packages, and I didnt like them 1 bit. Almost all of the scenery were created by someone else. This package is no exception. He even stole the wale from orcas island. With permission or not, you would think he would creat his own scenery objects. PS: ground textures are also really bad. But I give him a 3 for creating a nice flight expereince eitherway its fun to fly to a non default airport.. ==============================
The first 90% of that essay - incorrect spelling and grammar included - is nothing less than a shameful put-down and a vilification of Keith Giveans and his team without any attempt at objectivity whatsoever. In fact, Davila's statement regarding "stole the wale (sic)" is libellous. This piece of rubbish is NOT a review, by any stretch of the imagination, and should be removed.

Keith you have my solidarity. Well, the net sometimes is the basket for other people's personal frustrations...I can give lots of examples. Guys who can't even put a tree on a scenery, paint anything, design a plane, become the Supreme Judges and the only Beholders of the Right and the Beautifull. Respect and discretion are very important virtues even today, not only fìor the people but for their work.
OT: the TOH is once again showing as one of the most civilized forums around...I'm glad to see the "tohers" reactions! well done guys.
EDIT: the offender's "review" has been removed from Simmarket
