Has anyone heard how Bill and Lynn are doing? There was a note posted on his forums about them being closed for personal reasons.

Kofi, Ive been meaning to pop this question to you for a while: Who is the chap shown in your avatar? Is there a story behind the photo? Bruce It's Lee Archer, the only Tuskegee Airmen who achieved "Ace" status (acknowledged some decades after the war due to prejudices in counting)

I don't know if I'd call it "prejudices om counting". The "official" tallies for fighter pilots go up and down like yoyos and have since before the war ended. The most extreme example I know of is not for a fighter pilot but for the submarine USS Bowfin. Officially credited with 16 sinkings, she claimed 34 and had visual confirmation on most of them. She didn't get credit because the Navy couldn't get cross confirmation with Japanese records. Like those were complete by the fall of 1945 ....

Actually, The investigation did conclude it was due to prejudice.....Gun camera and other pilots accounted all pointed to "5" but the powers that be tried their hardest not to have a "black Ace" and succeeded.....
If it weren't for the efforts of some Air Force Academy Cadets, it would've never been revealed

You're right to say so. It was an unfortunate and ugly part of the past......
Now on the lighter side of things, I had the fortunate experience as a child to have a neighbor who was a Tuskegee Airman

Anyways.... This thread is about Bill...I can say that we should pray and wish him well..... I'm sorry....I did not realise that he was very ill. Of course, my thoughts go to him and Lynn. Thank you very much for your explanation. Bruce.

I say we do a group prayer for Bill and Lynn. Roger that...... Obviously there is much here I'm unaware of...... however, the Lyons family has been added to the local church prayer chain. God Bless & God Speed! Best wishes,
