How about some military history? Lots of possible subjects there- The round the world flights by the Douglas Cruisers, The endurance tests with a Fokker refueler, but for me I would like to see the Billy Mitchell tests. Started a thread at SOH about that. Looks like the VN guys may be interested in the ships. What do you think?? ;D www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=7023

Thanks all for the input and many great projects have been suggested. We'll do this again in the future to see what direction folks are leaning. We have decided that our next project will continue the theme set in the Graf Zeppelin packge of romantic travel in a luxury setting, but a decade later. We are going to do the Martin 130 China Clipper and her sister ships so we can island hop accross the pacific in in the 1030s to blaze new airline trails to exotic places in the Far East! This package will be along the lines of Golden Hawaii with Island and refueling stop sceneries. Hope to have it out in time for your significant other, or you, to get it for you for Christmas Bill, I think this will be great! ;D I'm a little late, but just thought I'd add my two cents - I've been on Vacation and life's intermittent realities, etc., etc. Sounds like it will be an exciting package and a Christmas release will be just about right - about the time the Redhead will want to travel south to get warm. South Pacific here we come - perfect!! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

The same Designer who did the the DWC also did the Naval Curtiss, the first plane to cross the Atlantic. Now if I had my druthers the plane would be redone.
First, ike the Graf, it's a multi crew plane. The Fuel has to be checked with a stick and the men had to crawl around the ship to check on the engines.
Second, the present version includes only some/a few of the destroyers on station broadcasting ADF signals for the planes to follow.
Third, the crew models I think it's fair to say are rudimentary and could use repacement.
Finally it's a sea plane and the story of the crossing is a whopping good story.
Then there is l`Oisseau Blanc. There is a very pretty model out there, but to run GW3 I, like the famous Roger, need to turn on "render to texture." This destroys the graphics in and out of the cockpit on this ship.
If Lindbergh had tough competition it was Nungasser and Coli. Nungasser was a heck of a pilot, past his prime perhaps, but just as determined as Lindbergh. The Levasseur PL8 is a much easier long haul plane to fly than the Spirit. The Problem of an East to West crossing is more challenging with a head rather than a tail wind.
Besides taking off from 2004 Paris is tougher than 1927 Paris. The field is surrounded by appartment buildings.

Hi Bill and Lynn,
Wanted to also add my 2 cents here. I've seen a lot of requests for aircraft and that's always good, but I'm a scenery person myself and so my interests move in that direction. There are a ton of GW3 airplanes available really, but very little in the way of serious scenery design packages. The Georender packs are exquisite and I'm loading those because they fit the era basically. All pretty rustic areas and just the minimum as far as niceties, lol. I have a lot of your packages and the scenery is equally dated for this era, so I have those to include as well. Something along those lines though, maybe to date the first mail flights, or maybe a package that would add the beacons and stations I've read about that the pilots used for navigation purposes. Air races seemed to be the thing in the 30's and so maybe a few race venues from around the country to compliment the one included with GW3.
Anyway, I can find all the GW3 airplanes I want, but scenery is rather scarce and that's my 2 cents, lol.

Hi Ed- If you check the Golden Scenery forum you'll find lots of scenery is under development. You might even want to try the Quick & Dirty tutorial and make some simple stuff yourself.

Hi all. My computer is still dead stick. Just the Mrs. computer to chat on. Anyhow, does anyone remember Cook Cleland? He was an air races aviator after WW II. My dad took me to a restaurant on Euclid Avenue in western Willoughby, Ohio. It sat on the north side of the road, was an old "greasy spoon" kinda place. Lots of airplane models, and pics hanging everywhere. It really whet my appetite for airplanes. I believe just north of the restaurant, was an old airfield, and a hangar with Cleland's white clipped wing Corsair racer in it. How about that field? Number 2: as for an airmail route with beacons, please check out my VA's files: DC3 Airways; They have a cross-country beacon setup already. I don't think they'd mind if you dnld'd. the airmail stuff. While there, look into some of our scenery files, like: KBMA and KBMS the old Baltimore, Maryland airport from back in the 30's. It's really neat. Has active classic AI aircraft: DC3's, China Clippers, hangars with Nav 2 freq. door operations. Then maybe pick up our great DC3 Airways DC3 s. Makes a great addition to the GW 3 hangar! Now, if I can just get my wife to let me fix my computer so's I can go flyin' agin. John Skokan

Having serious flight simless withdrawal symptoms. Bill and Lynn, I was just getting to know all the great fun to fly your Stinson, Piper Tripacer, Apache, Luscomb, ahhhhhh, what great planes. How about that DC2? Remember the DDA Dakota group made one for FS2k2? That, and maybe a second vote on the DeHavilland Beaver. That could be a great bush package! Ouch! I have a great big hole in my being where a flight sim used to reside. alas poor piper, I knew ye well.....

Tom, Thanks, I'll check it out. I was just thinking of the great packages Bill and Lynn develope to go alongside any a/c they do. The adventures and scenery addons are now an important part of the flightsim experience. And not to forget all the other great scenery and addon people out there that add so much to the fs experience, Thanks to all!
