Thank you Gentlemen for your replies, seems as though that DH-4M is a popular choice as well as the Big ole Martin! I am aware of a few of these beauties under construction by various builders as well as a couple of surprises from a few friends of ours!So we hopefullly will have them in the future. I agree with everyones choices too! We are planning future projects after the release of our 1st Trip into the Vintage Airliner world, which has been a long but rewarding experience and will be ready for release soon. Me and Paul will however need to take a breather from multi-engine birds for a tad and will probably revert back to our Single engine format with and old favorite next? Hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!....Best Gil

If someone can get me GOOD three-views, I'll start either the DH-60GM American Moth or the SM-8A Stinson Junior as soon as I get the Robin series out the door.

Hi Jimslost, On the subject of de Havilland DH60 Moths, I can do you a choice of three-views (and pictures and data....). Brian (Froggy) and I are looking for a DH60 for AI traffic for our Vintage Scotland project (there were a lot of them about) - but I'm not sure what variant you mean. There's a basic model DH60 (the earliest variant) with a range of engines, each usually know by it's engine fitment (eg Genet Moth or Cirrus Moth), then there's a DH60G (aka Gypsy Moth) which was very common (and a nicely shaped nose cowling), then there's a DH60G Moth Major (mostly known as DH60G.III for it's mark three Gypsy engine), then there's a DH60M which had a metal fuselage (for overseas customers where weathering was an issue). Is this last one the one you mean? Hadn't heard of any going to the USofA but that's not to say they didn't. It's a much rarer beast than the G variant although some Ms did have Gypsy engines. Let me know which model is of interest and I'll scan some stuff for you. If you want a good level of detail the files will be too big for an email, but I can send via 'You Send It' or similar. If you were to do a UK registration, that would fit in with our project (I can supply registration details, colour schemes etc.), if not Froggy is learning to do repaints so he would have a stab at converting whatever scheme you chose. If you want to get in touch outwith the forum, email me at leylandspurr@hotmail.com Cheers, Leyland

Hi, Leyland, They built somewhere between 168 and "just under 200" Moths under license here in the U. S. The first 120+ were built in Lowell, Mass, and the final batch was assembled by the Curtiss Wright organization outside St. Louls, Missouri. This one is currently in a museum at Chino, California (where I couldn't get that good a picture of it). It's also in my father's logbook; I believe he flew it in the summer of '37. There is another one up the road in Santa Paula, but I've done the unforgivable and lost all my pictures of it. According to what little I've learned, it had the metal airframe, Gypsy engine, and no slats - the slats were an additional option at something like $200. I figure that's the version I'll build, but I'll put on the slats. I am definitely interested in any material you can provide, but I must be honest and note that of all the things I am, fast is not even on the list. I've got ten months in the Robin project and at least one more to go (it keeps growing). I'll send you a PM after the holiday with my address and some intense begging for data. Thanks.

I'd like a Dolphin myself, but that's too much project for my limited capabilities. That's something that needs to be tackled by a team (hint hint, Gil).

well we have not done an amphibian yet.......... Gil, The Gypsy Moth had an amphibian version. (Hint! ) I'm also keen on seeing the GM reproduced simply because of the Francis Chichester England to Australia & Tasman crossing connection. www.gileschichestermep.org.uk/francis-chichester_cv.htmI have book "Solo To Sydney". An excellent read. Bruce

Hi Johnwillimas, I agree a Puss Moth would be nice, as would a DH84 Dragon (there were a lot of those used for commercial traffic in the byways of 30's Scotland). It might be possible to modify the model file of a DH89 ? There's a DH85 Leopard Moth in some of our recent 'Vintage Scotland' issues (Inverness for instance) - it's derived from an old (FS2000?) Frank Elton model which can be 'fudged' to fly OK (the air and cfg files in the AI version would do just that for you). The only other thing the original needs is an decrease in model distance/increase in apparent size. I used Chuck Dome's old MDLDIST programme to change the size to something like "7" and maybe the AI traffic version will carry that size over to your sim. A new one would be better, but in the meantime........ Leyland CORRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry - sleepin' on the job again. I hadn't noticed, but Froggy uploaded the full Leopard Moth (original paint, two repaints, and all files required for flying her) in the scenery package. I can only plead insanity - I already had the moth on my sustem so didn't really look at that part of the upload. So it's ready to fly 'out of the box' - If the size (from outside view) doesn't look right to anyone, please let me know, but I think it should be fine. Sorry again for the red herring, Leyland

All of them would be great.
An up to date Curtis Condor would be my first choice.
