Has it been determined what aircraft exactly will be included or where these airplanes have come from? Are these possibly off-the-shelf airplanes, such as Aerosoft's Beaver, or Bill Lyon's Goose?
It seems to me that Microsoft would be smart to purchase excellent products already in existance and work with developers to kick it up a notch with the new features.

As Will Rogers said, "All I know is what I read in the papers." We have a short Q&A and a few sceenshots. I saw some live action during BG's keynote speech at CES. That is all we KNOW. Now you can go to other forums and find all kinds of speculation. I did. I was appalled by some of the BS being spread around some formerly reputable forums today. You can go to All Nodes Are Currently Boring and read Andrew Hurd & Co,' s over the top speculation. I hate to think of what is being shoveled on THEIR forums but I bet it is deep. I haven't even considered looking at what kind of fertilizer is being spread at Avsim. My point is, Microsoft have told us little so far but what they have told us are the only facts. And that is the only source of facts there will be. Period. We can assume anything, individually or collectively, that won't make it true. We can wish upon the nearest star, that won't reveal any truth. We can hope against hope that our wishes are gratified and be doomed to disappointment. We simply don't know. There is no doubt that Microsoft have revealed a new product. I have no doubt that it is a relatively stable, well tested (internally) product that runs on a definable range of PCs (probably with the latest build of Vista) but there will likely (THIS IS A GUESS) be an extensive external beta which will involve a number of people outside Microsoft who can be depended on to do 2 things: Follow instructions and Remain silent. They are very strict about their NDAs, so much so that if, for example, I somehow got chosen for the external beta, nobody reading this would ever know. Bottom line... If it comes from Microsoft, you can believe it, if it comes from anywhere else, you better not believe it. So why is this forum here? Everyone wants to talk about FS-X. Here's a place where you can do that. One rule please. Be nice to each other and don't badmouth Microsoft (OK that's 2 rules)

I hope MS will keep in FSX some of the vintage planes of FS9 and upgrade the VC of the older stock !

FS2004 has some great default aircraft (I spent hours in the Comet when it was first released). Good to see it's continuing in FSX

I do not see how it is possible to have a serious discussion of Microsoft's products without badmouthing Microsoft so I'd better stay out of this.

Well, I don't see what could be so bad in any way. Everything will be updated, and better. If something is better, isn't that good? I am even happy that they actually started a new version, I thought they wouldn't. Regardless, there is still a long wait ahead of us to really see how it's going to turn out to be. I'm not much of a critic though so don't ask me . (PS: Simon, I have been curious as to what your signature says, and it doesn't translate to English from any language. What language is it? Just curious.)

@ Scuba It is latin with a mispelled word. Loosely translated itmeans : to make mistake is human, but only donkeys persist. But there's another latin saying which says asinus asinum fricat. ;D @ Kofi about the Comet, I knew I wasn't alone
