Wayne Tudor has issued a beautiful rendition of the Douglas DC-4 (for Jens Kristensen's model) and I have started to create a Flightplan for this aircraft. In early 1949 Qantas Empire Airways surveyed a route to Hong Kong and in June of that year they commenced passenger services from Sydney, using the DC-4's originally bought by British Commonwealth Pacific Airlines (BCPA) and which were sold to Qantas when BCPA acquired their DC-6's. Stops on this route were made at Darwin then Labuan, in Borneo (now Malaysia) and thence to Hong Kong. Below is a screenshot - taken by Wayne - of VH-EBK (my own personal DC-4!) at 9,000 feet surrounded by cloud. I should be able to publish this package over the weekend at both major download libraries. Regards, Bruce.

Coincidently I stumbled across my father's C-54 manual from Oct, 44 last night and spent this morning going through it. I have Jen Kristensen's DC-4, so when your package is released I'll be ready to make the trip myself. Does anyone know of a late USAAF (bare metal) repaint for this plane? If it's out there, I must have missed it last night.

....Does anyone know of a late USAAF (bare metal) repaint for this plane? ..... Sorry that I can't help you in that regard, Jim. If you can't find one, yet have reference material available, a direct request to Wayne may be worthwhile. He has created several historical Aussie airline liveries at my urging so he may be prepared to do the same for a military version. His bare-metal work is excellent. Bruce

The DC-4 departed Sydney around 7:30 AM and cruised northward at 9,000 feet and 170 knots indicated. After almost eight hours the aircraft touched down in Darwin just on 3:30 PM, where it will be refuelled and continue its journey after approximately 40 minutes on the ground. Next stop is Labuan, in Borneo, some 1,300 miles away. Bruce
