The Marx Brothers [glow=red,2,300]Fred, Ginger, Gene and Dolores[/glow] flew to Rio but this trip goes from Southampton, England all the way down to Capetown, South Africa. Aircraft of choice? The recently-released Cessna 150. I'll be packaging this up within the coming week but in the interim here are a couple of screenshots as I fly down the east coast of Corsica after crossing from Nice. The little 150 is very enjoyable. Slow, but it is so nicely done that it's a delight to fly. And there are plenty of interesting places to stop on the way when the weather gets crappy or I get tired. Bruce P.S. I even put their names in lights, Jim.

Gee, and here I thought it was Fred, Ginger, Gene Raymond, and Dolores Del Rio who took that jaunt south ....

Bruce Bruce, thanks for this flight! ;D I downloaded it right after you finished it, but haven't flown it yet. Went on vacation last week and as usual it took a week to get ready and a week to catch up with work afterwords - the older I get the more I believe it is no longer worth taking a vacation - to much to do!! Drove 2600 miles, 9 states, saw a great airshow at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma with two of my sons, visited the in-laws in Illinois, and finalized the whole thing with an Ice Cream Social in a small Illinois farm town on a Saturday evening - I swear I thought it was 'Mayberry' R.F.D. - Sheriff Taylor & Barney Fife could've driven up and it would've been the norm - there's something to say about that life style! Anyway, looking forward to flying this (love that 150) as soon as I find the time! Seems there's been a number of new plane releases and I'm still working on that B-17 flight/mission - hell, the war will probably be over by the time I finish it . . . Thanks again! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Dan, I must be suffering from the onset of dementia but I can't find anywhere that I that I've uploaded this flight! I was moving everything across from my desktop PC to my laptop when I started to create the adventure but am sure I haven't yet packaged it........which I will do today (Sunday).

Bruce, your not suffering from an onset of anything! I've simply lost my mind - somewhere - probably between Oklahoma and Missouri! I could've sworn I download it - but, probably was the "1947 - BWIA - St. Kitts to Trinidad" or one of your newest puzzles. I just researched AVSIM - the St. Kitts flight plan which was published in May - so, I don't know. That was a crazy week before we left, and I remember reading the following thread, so that is the only thing I can figure. Dan, We have a long weekend down here and although I'll be up near Sydney for two days I'm hopeful of having this done on the Monday, if at all possible. Regards, Bruce You don't need to rush to get it out - take your time. I'll need some time to find my mind anyway - hell, sorry about that! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Dan, No worries......stop whacking yourself with that big stick! I'm in the middle of assembling it now (7:30 PM Sunday). Today was too nice a day to spend inside so I went sailing instead. But I'll get this Flight packaged as soon as I can. Regards, Bruce

I've created individual flightplans for the many legs from London to Capetown......roughly around the 500 mile stage. Gentle steps for such an aircraft with a low cruising speed. Note that these are IFR plans and you'll be told by ATC what to do. When they instruct you to climb to 10,000, just tell them to jump in the lake (or go to VFR) because the 150 takes forever to climb. I've created the plans with a 4,500 ft cruising altitude. Available direct from my server. Just right-click and save. www.netspeed.com.au/bhk/c150-to-africa.zipLet me know how you go. The stages are:- Southampton to Nice Nice to Sicily Sicily to Athens Athens to Alexandria Alexandria to Aswan Aswan to Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia to Djibouti Djibouti to Ethiopia Ethiopia to Kenya Kenya to Burundi Burundi to Zambia Zambia to Johannesburg Johannesburg to East London East London to Capetown Quite a journey! Are there enroute emergency fields on those legs, Bruce? 500 miles is a stretch for my current ride, especially using real world weather.

There are plenty of alternative fields between the planned stops through Europe, the Med and down through Africa after Djibouti. The most sparse region is Saudi Arabia, I think. What I did was to put down where I felt like it when I'd had enough for that session. Regards, Bruce

Guess I'll just have to schedule the time and make the trip myself.

Well, I'm on my way!! ;D I've got the 150 loaded up with just about everything I can think of - from a couple of toothbrushes (the trip will be long enough that I'll probably wear the first one out) to K-rations, to I don't know how many sets of clothes (even brought a 'black tie' tuxedo (you just never know), 2 Kodaks, a hammock, TV (color), to a keg of beer (refillable ). Capetown or Bust . . . 67 kts is all I can get out of this thing. Somebody on the ground said something about drag Hell, they don't know what their talking about. I checked - I'm not dragging anything . . . Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

But may the winds be fair and not in your face....enjoy the adventure, Dan! Bruce
