Looks great!
Might I entreat you to make an actual FSX version as well.
I recently purchased your Waco F model & am duly pleased with it. The reason I did not purchase it straight away is that in essence it is a FS9 port.
The enhancements afforded in FSX such as bump, specularity & bloom truly enhance the visuals. IMO a ribbed wing with a nicely done bump would be spectacular!
Odds are I will purchase this aircraft anyway but there are those who have switched to FSX & will not buy a non-true FSX model.
Come to the light my friend! ;D

Hey Gil, I like your models just the way they are. Why mess with perfection?

Gil and I have gone back and forth on making pure FSX models, rather than FSX compatible. For various reasons, we've decided that we are going to continue to build for FS9, making the model compatible with, but not uniquely FSX. (for the foreseeable future)
Best Paul

Had to hang some of 'The Girls' from the hangar ceiling, but I think there's room now!! And on behalf of your millions of semi-devoted fans and repainters worldwide I want you guys to chant the following mantra....... There are 2 sides to a fuselage....There are 2 sides to a wing..........Repetium ad nauseum!!

I know what you mean, it seems a little weird. ;D But in reality it seems to have some merit. Here's a good example. You spend four or five hours putting together a PK for one of your favs then you spend more painting it. You learn to live with the tailfeathers from h..l and you know you can track down that door area on the left side, it's on the cowling .bmp you're sure. The fuselage and cowling only have a single sided texture area so you can't put any text on them and graphics will be reversed....oh well. You start on the upper wings and paint in carefully avoiding that wonky area where the ailerons are...you'll track that one down later. Doesn't look too shabby............. Then you look from underneath where the upper textures are placed on the bottom of the wing.......... AAAAaaaaaRRRRrrrrrrrGGGGGGgggggggHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh Where's that 'head-banging' smilie when you need it. ;D

I feel your pain Wrongway. I sweat blood over my first QCF-2 repaint trying to get everything to line up and I'm pulling my hair out on my second QCF-2 repaint.

Oh it's not too bad as long as you stick with a solid colour for the major components and just embellish with a coloured stripe on the side LJ. Now that I put together a PK I could probably knock together 5 or 6 of those in an evening. I'd just have to give up the enjoyment of those fancy panel colourings that follow the structure shape like above. Not a bad idea that, do up a bunch and send them up in Leon's honor working in the way he so loved to create.

so what do you need me to do to make it easier for you guys? If you send me your textures and your willing to be patient, I'll apply your skins to the model and give you an updated model file that will place the textures where you wish them to be. Just lest me know. The next release should be more painter friendly

For example in order for the QCF-2 to look like this: I had to do the textures like this: It is like a trying to figure out a puzzle.

Naw Paul, I'm just remembering the good old days and how easy the CTO was to paint up. ;D Can't even put a bootstripe on the wings, the edges don't match. One thing about having to keep it simple, you can knock 'em out fairly quickly. A few little changes and they work with the INF also. Some better mapping would let me get even more gaudy!! Yeah.....that's the ticket..... You could tell us (me) where the VC .bmp ($RNF) might be hiding though. I don't want to start a search through my aircraft directory...it might take a while. All those colourful exteriors have a burgandy interior right now. ;D
