G,Day does anyone know how to get the Ai traffic from golden wings to work in fsx?
ive tried by moving all the modern aircraft out of the airplanes folder, and moving the Gw Ai into said folder, put traffic on 100%, and, nothing..

The sim does not automatically generate ai flight simply because an aircraft is installed. Every flight is programmed in an ai traffic file, the FSX default being 'trafficAircraft.bgl'. The default location in both sims, for traffic files, is the ...\Scenery\World\scenery\ folder. (It is not necessary to remove the FSX default aircraft to remove the default traffic. Simply move 'trafficAircraft.bgl' somewhere for safe keeping or rename it so FSX doesn't 'see' it, example 'trafficAircraft.original'.)
You have to copy the appropriate GW3 'traffic*.bgl files to that FSX location.
There are a couple of gottcha's:
Though GW3 (FS9) formatted traffic files will work in FSX, FSX will not use FS9 and FSX traffic files at the same time. If it sees FS9 files it will ignore FSX files, which means you will not see any default FSX aircraft or 'ship and ferries' traffic.
Also the date format differs so you may not find the GW3 traffic when/where you expect.
The solution, if you want it, is to convert FS9 traffic files to FSX format. There are a couple of utilities to do that if you're interested.
Also, the GW3 ai aircraft may or may not work properly in FSX, depending on how they were modeled.

I've been meaning to figure out which ones do and which ones don't work in FSX for some of the Golden sceneries I'm working on, but just haven't had the time lately, between two jobs and a wife and school starting up again soon. But should I take the time, I'll post a list of which GW AI planes work 'as is' and which ones don't. From previous forum posts it appears that 'some' of the GW AI work in FSX and some do not. And that's completely a modeling issue.
A positive side, though to FS9 ai traffic causing FSX traffic to disappear, is that is one way I can control what traffic is in FSX and what isn't. I use the CalClassic Silver Age AI in my FSX, and had trouble making the ai traffic files FSX compliant, so I just left them FS9. Anyway, it ensures that when I have my 1959 AI traffic running, I don't inadvertently leave on non-1959 traffic files and have jumbo jets and DC-3s all at the same time.
