In FSX what are some of your favorite scenery places to fly?
I like country barn storming myself but don't know where to explore in FSX.

I'm with you Vin.....however, over the Christmas holiday's I picked up the Orbx scenery for Australia and I must admit.... that is a beautiful job they have done. I'm sure there will be many......MANY months of flying down under! (smile)
Cheers,

I'm still stuck in the Caribbean. FS9 was Alaska. I'm going to finish Caribbean-X AFCADs one of these days... and will move on, but not sure where.

Lately I've been haunting Australia (thanks to Orbx, it's the best looking place in the game), Society Islands of French Polynesia (Tahiti X), and crossing back and forth between Ireland and the UK in the good ole DC-3 and some turboprops, not sure why but I find it relaxing.

Im a tumbleweed in FSX, going to wherever interests me at that moment.
Presently I am spending my time in Tahiti using Aerosofts Tahiti scenery.

I didn't know about Orbx until this thread. Just finished downloading and had a few flights in Australia. Great coastal scenery, wow. I like flying the Goose here. I think I'll be flying around Australia for awhile. Orbx has a freeware page. Definitely worth checking out. I'm feeling much better about FSX.

Eastern Maine with my own scenery on my regular FSX install. MoCat's Caribbean on the SonyP4 FSX install. Maine & Atlantic Canada (mine) & Quebec (Leon's) in "modern" FS9. Bangor, Presque Isle and Northern Maine lakes in GW3.

Tom, your Maine scenery was one of the first I downloaded for FSX and is save as a favorite. I also like Hartness State in Vermont which has two other mountain grass airfields near by. I only wish I knew how to add some buildings to these fields, even if they are defualt ones. It can't be to hard, I'll have to get the sdk and read up.
The forum scenery tutorials seem to be way more then I want to do right now. Like adding ground textures. I just want to place a few buildings on these empty airfields.

Gene, if you're willing to spend a few bucks, I recommend Instant Scenery from Flight1. It works in FS9 and FSX and will place objects from default libraries as well as libraries for RWY12 and EZ-Scenery that can be downloaded from Avsim & Flightsim.com It is very easy to use. Alternatively, Jon Masterson's ADE is freeware but I think only for FSX.
Are you using FS9 of FSX or both?

Tom, the more time I spend in FSX the less desire I have for FS9. At this point the only reason I would load FS9 is for GW3 and Bill Lyons stuff. I wouldn't care to do any development in FS9. I would love to do some fiddling in FSX scenery though. I'll be sure to look at these fine tools you recommend.
