Hello to All Now that Part III, D-Day is in final testing and with no further problems should be released next weekend....I was trying to decide what to do next! Then it hit me "High Road to China". So with that as my guide, I set about trying to find the perferct place for the start of "Silk Road Air Race".......I found it....Leads Castle in Maidstone, United Kingdom.... With that, I created "King's Aero Club"..... The pics below are WIP from Movie Maker's Studio, Set IV, Scene I "King's Aero Club; Silk Road Air Race"... Here's The pics... Regards, MoCat

Looking good Mocat. I'll try to put this as delicately as possible.... IRL the area that you've chosen, in fact the whole area around that lake, is heavily populated by Canada Geese (and a few other species too). They treat it as their personal toilet and in the Summer, especially if you're walking around with sandals on, you have to keep your eye out for where you're walking I live about 20 miles away from Leeds Castle but as is invariably the case, haven't visited for quite a few years. They do superb Medieval Banquets in the Long Hall with spit roasted beef and pork, mead, serving wenches in historical dress, music in the gallery, all that stuff. They also have a nice enclosure to walk around in with peacocks, and a small zoo for the younger kiddies. And they also have a great little golf course! Leeds Castle is spectacular from the air. I've flown over it many times and look forward to doing so again this year in the microlight. I'll take some pics and put them up if I get the chance. PS - sorry if I've hijacked your thread a bit but it was a pleasant surprise to see the castle in your scenery. PPS I'm back again. They also do a glorious Autumn open-air concert which I've never been to because we usually go to one at about the same time inside Rochester Castle, which is a bit more intimate. And they also have a spectacular fireworks display the weekend of November 5th when we celebrate Guy Fawkes night. If anyone is visting the area, Leeds Castle is a MUST to add to your itinerary. The interior and the furniture and artifacts on display are superb. They also have a very famous collection of historical dog collars

I'll take some screen shots this evening from the air so you can see the castle and surround area.....I've done the model...not high detail due to frame rates......I didn't know they actuall did ultralight flights arround the castle....do they take off and land on the grounds?....If they don't no big deal....I converted one of the roadways....to take off from and land on!
I', tried to keep the 1920s feeling.....
I had visited the castle back in the 1980s when I was stationed in Germany....Miss Europe bad!
Stay tuned....
Regards,
MoCat

Look forward to seeing those pics I used to fly over Leeds Castle also in the 80s coincidentally when our group had our Cherokee at Biggin and then at Rochester just 'up the road'. I'm now back to flying microlights from Clipgate Farm which is south of Canterbury about 20 miles or so east of Leeds Castle so it's a good place to fly over when you're 'cross-countrying' or just out sightseeing. But what will interest a few TOHers is that they have an amazing hot air balloon fest at Leeds Castle and during the Summer they also have a big tethered balloon with a very large enclosed (I think) basket that you can go up in. If you happen to be driving past on the M20 motorway it always comes as a bit of a shock when this enormous ruddy thing suddenly appears rising up from behind the trees

I might have to release as a stand alone, modern day scenery with hot air balloons....Bruce Fitzgerald did a hot air balloon for FSX....That would be neat....Ultralights on the road way and balloons out in the field....
I'll think about it an post some shots tonight...
Regards, again!

Lovely work Mocat - looks superb. That'll be a fun area to fly in. Lots of crows but not too many eagles in Kent though Unless you know something I don't .... better watch out next time I'm walking the dang dog ;D
